I'm comfortable standing by my position, accusations of naivete or appeals to authority notwithstanding. But that's enough for this thread.
That's giving them far too much credit. Marketing is not run by Machiavellian masterminds, but by out-of-touch morons getting high off their own supply. In other words, "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity." This ad not only missed the mark, they missed it in exactly the way I'd expect a brand and a rich celebrity to miss it.
