Relax man, I get it. Edited my reply to show that the conversation is getting way too academic (in all senses of the term) for this thread, and it is. Time for all of us to move on. I'd be happy to continue elsewhere if anyone else wants to, though.

"Evo psych is full of shit" is not "biology and psychology play no role," dude. But this is getting way beyond the specific issue and spiraling into one of them pointless academic arguments. So mercifully for everyone, I have to get to campus.

For what it's worth, and I have no interest in restarting the debate, I never made a claim that humans were a blank slate and that biology or psychology had no role in anything. I have not read Gould's book, but nothing in the Wiki summary suggests a conclusion I immediately disagree with. My politics are informed by history (and 19th-century Marxist authors' understanding of earlier history has always been bad, and I don't share it), not my opinion on the nature of human consciousness.

Film everything on a green screen at Star Wars locations. Get Disney to pay for it. Do a promotional tie-in. Have alternate covers with models in cosplay. Alternatively the same thing, but with Marvel Cinematic Universe. Get on the nerd pop culture money train while it's still chugging. Get covered by geek and film websites in addition to the sports ones.

Sure, I think that's a perfectly plausible interpretation. I just think that such a performance is basically indistinguishable from one where she doesn't want to make a scene, embarrass her hosts, and become the story. "Model Lashes Out at Radio Host" isn't a good look for her or SI, either. That's why I called it diplomatic. Diplomacy: Everyone hears what they want to. Ultimately your guess is as good as mine. I've been drilled (yay, historian) to try not to let my gut take me too far. The evidence says what it says, and sometimes that's open to interpretation.

I won't claim to know how she really feels. Only model whose politics I'm here for is Emrata anyway.
