Well I was just trying to point out that because she comes from South Africa, family owned a farm etc. might be the basis of those rumours spreading. Doesn't mean that she actually is. I didn't think that making fun of Adriana would be based on racism. I speculated about the reasons why that apparently happened.

I could see the racism (rumours) come into play because even in South Africa there is tension between whites and blacks and when you take into consideration the fact that Candice's family is white and owned a farm... Talks about her making fun of a Brazilian accent etc. is a little confusing because her boyfriend is Brazilian. So it leads me to wonder whether Candice has heard something more because she knows Portuguese or because she thinks she knows how cool Brazilians behave and she feels like Adriana / whomever don't fit the part? Out of all the girls, I would say that Lily seems to be the nicest consistently. You can just tell she is so happy and honored to be an Angel.

That Candice story reminds me of this video: There seemed to be tension between the girls, just look at the body language. And Candice misses the ending but they didn't try to shoot it again... I would actually love to know how things are really behind the scenes. Like I remember how Miranda and Rosie seemed to be really good friends, sharing a birthday party etc. but later that seemed to disappear. Oh yeah... Doutzen is doing amazing! Just today I walked past H&M and saw a big beautiful picture of Doutzen. She is truly untouchable as far as contracts go: Victoria's Secret + L'Oreal + Tiffany & Co. and now H&M. Others should take note. What I meant by rehearsed lines and having a language barrier is that when there was a new specific feature about a product that Adriana would have to inform the audience about she would utter a few sentences that were clearly thought of by someone else because of the choice of words etc. but I don't mind that as much because many wouldn't be confident enough to wing it in a foreign language. Lindsay has great potential because there is no other Angel who carries herself the same way that she does. She is so prim and proper and her princess like prettiness adds to it. She just needs to stop memorising what she is going to say because very few can pull that off like Tyra when she was promoting Body by Victoria (and I'm not looking for perfection either): I can forgive someone like Adriana saying rehearsed lines because there is a language barrier. Some of the girls should study Marisa when it comes to talking to reporters. And ban the word comfortable, it has become redundant because I've heard them describe so many products that way! Now whenever someone describes a bra etc. as "comfortable" it tells me they really have not put any effort into the spokesmodel aspect of their job. And don't rush to sell the product! The interviewers are professionals, they'll get to it. Especially if they are men because it is an opportunity for jokes when they are holding lace panties in their hands.

Oh I think that not being accepted by VS was probably a blessing in disguise. If she had gone from SI to VS, she would have almost certainly pigeonholed herself in lingerie and bikini modelling. At best she would have had a career like Heidi Klum and Marisa Miller. Obviously Heidi and Marisa have had fantastic careers that almost any model would want to emulate but still Kate would have more or less just followed in their footsteps. Now she has her own thing going on: from SI to Vogue. Usually, it's the other way around. Now that is something! PS. She is doing a movie so that kind of fits in with U.S. Vogue's love affair with actresses.

Sexy Marilyn! I knew they were going to have some horseback riding pictures because that is always going to be considered a terribly chic pastime (especially polo!). I really think that one of the reasons why Anna Wintour accepted Kate is the fact that Kate has a pretty good family background. I remember people telling that Anna Wintour would ask them during a job interview what their parents did for a living. There is no way that she would put an American model from the wrong side of the tracks on the cover unless that girl had a flawless Cinderella story. So in Wintour's mind Kate probably fits damn well in this idea of a fun and glamorous Cary Grant like American life (with one-piece swimwear! ). This is going to get crazy... Kate has officially arrived!

VS played it smart before and teamed up with an airline -> photo op in front of the plane teamed up with a hotel -> photo op in different hotel locations Publicity for all parties, cost cuts! They could come up with a special event like in 2006 when they received a key to LA or in 2007 when they got a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. (Entertainment news media would be interested). I think that especially Miami / Las Vegas businesses would probably still be excited about the Angels (cities that have a sexy reputation but are secondary markets compared to NY or LA when it comes to the entertainment industry). And couldn't they at least hire all the girls for the holiday shopping event?

I really really hope that the fashion show would be SOMEWHERE ELSE than New York. I want them to go back to LA or Miami — just go to a place that would actually give a damn about Victoria's Secret models. I feel like in recent years we have had one or two pathetic photo ops whereas in 2006, 2007 and 2008 there were tons! I so wish they had a beach / pool shoot again like in Miami! And why haven't they done a classic group photo op of all the Angels wearing matching outfits (usually white jeans)? It would be fun to also have an Angel shoot a diary like Miranda did in 2006 and 2007 or Alessandra in 2008.

Yep, not to be too cynical but she knows that appealing to the Christians can bring her money, attention etc. I think that there is an interesting disconnect between her message (sexy=selling sex=bad) and her huge implants. Either way I feel a bit bad for her because she couldn't reach her dreams and she seemed sweet but the way she pads her modelling achievements just makes her look ridiculous. Something is off with her emotionally.
