  4. ^Nice! Thanks Tito! I look forward to seeing the pics from this event! MizzElin, you are awesome! Thanks so much for the classic ads!
  5. ^Oh wow! Nice! I'm assuming this is from her birthday? Where is this from Tito? And I've never seen those Epoca ads before.
  6. ^Nice! I don't remember seeing that one before. -------------------------- Linda still keeps busy these days! Fashion Icon Linda Evangelista Visits the {FASHION INCUBATOR} MAY 22, 2013 As part of the {FASHION INCUBATOR} program, our designers are exposed to everything from professional development to workshops and seminars. But one special component of the program is a series titled— “An Evening With…” —dedicated to spending time with industry leaders and icons who have cultivated their own, unique models for success. Most recently, the {FASHION INCUBATOR} designers had the opportunity to meet the illustrious model and fashion icon, Linda Evangelista. The designers not only had a chance to introduce Ms. Evangelista to their brands and show her their collections, but they also had the opportunity to hear stories of her career and her experiences with the world’s most iconic designers. There are numerous pics here: http://cfda.com/blog/fashion-icon-linda-evangelista-visits-the-fashion-incubator
  7. So even though Linda has been taking a break from the cameras for the past six months, she's not exactly sitting idle. I read this article today from WWD: May 21, 2013 New Exposure Photography Competition Returns New Exposure, a photography competition sponsored by Bottega Veneta and Vogue magazine, is going into round two. Starting today, photographers worldwide who have previously not been under contract anywhere can find out more about the project at bottegaveneta.com and submit portfolios via vogue.com/promotions. Much like the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, the talent contest aims to help young photographers break into the business. New Exposure grew out of Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier’s own interest in photography. “At Bottega Veneta, we have collaborated with amazing photographers over the years to create advertising campaigns that effectively merge the vision I have for the collection with the work of the photographer,” he said. Maier is part of the jury that also includes Vogue photography director Ivan Shaw; Linda Evangelista; curator Andrew Bolton of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute; photographers Craig McDean and Collier Schorr; stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele; makeup artist Pat McGrath and hair stylist Guido Palau; creative director Doug Lloyd; gallerist Yossi Milo, and Art+Commerce founding partner Jimmy Moffat. They will review portfolios and pick 10 finalists, who will work on a final project. The winner, to be unveiled during New York Fashion Week in September, will take home a $10,000 cash prize, as well as a year-long mentorship with Art+Commerce and another one with Vogue’s Shaw. Bottega Veneta will also tap the winning photographer to shoot one of its special projects. An Le won the inaugural contest last year. Link: http://www.wwd.com/m...ap-shot-6942829

  9. ^Wow! Thanks Spiral! Tomorrow is Linda's birthday, and the Huffington Post made a tribute to her today: http://www.huffingto...ml#slide=955924
  10. Here's one more!
  11. Awwww...Linda looks like a fairy princess! And look at that long hair! I hope this means she's coming back to work again!
  12. ^And that was such a drastic change! Especially the thinned-out brows!
  13. Wow! Great stuff! MizzElin, those are fantastic shots from Versace. spiral, thanks for the Armani photo. Great memories! The magazines are already starting to hit the June publication dates and still no sign of Linda. I know Linda comes and goes as she pleases, but it seems to be odd after 2012 where she was virtually everywhere.
  14. A really nice tribute to the Supers, especially Linda: http://www.stylesove...om/superheroes/ Before there was Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha there was Linda, Christy and Naomi. They were the girls that everyone wanted to be. They were gorgeous, stylish and on top of their game. This was when models were still on the covers of magazines and Linda was famously quoted as saying “We have this expression, Christy and I: We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day.” That was 1990 and “The Trinity” as they were dubbed were 2 years into their reign. This photo was taken in 1992 backstage at a show in New York. Around this time is when Linda, Christy and Naomi along with 7 other “Supermodels” donned white mens shirts and white jeans for Vogue’s “100th Anniversary Special.” (April, 1992) A few months later, in September 1992, Linda appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar pushing up the R. This marked the beginning of Liz Tilberis’ Bazaar and the cover was styled by my father and Tonne Goodman who the new were Co-Fashion Directors. The cover line simply read “Enter the Era of Elegance.” While the fashion business was having a glory day I was slogging through one of the hardest times of my life. My mother had recently passed away and my father left Keeble, Cavaco, and Duka to join the team at Bazzar. KCD was where I went everyday after school and everyone there was my extended family. Everything that had once felt familiar was no longer. In the final years of the Keeble, Cavaco, and Duka I was my father’s constant companion and therefore became quite close to Linda, Christy and Naomi. They were booked in every show and every campaign, so I saw them quite often. The show seasons right after my mother passed away were the hardest, but they hold some of my best memories. After a show on West 55th Street “The Trinity” took me to Manolo Blahnik. When the boutique door opened and the 4 of us walked in the entire store stopped in it’s tracks. They tried on shoes and generously asked my opinion. These were the most famous women in the world, other than Madonna (more on that later) and they took me shopping at the shoe store that my mother frequented most often. They collectively transformed a place that held many “mommy memories” into one of my favorite places on Earth. The kindness they showed me that day left an indelible mark on my heart and for that I will be forever grateful. When my father took me to the Couture shows in Paris, July of 1992, our first stop was the House of Valentino where we ran into Linda who was having her fitting. We had just arrived in Paris that morning, the first time without my mother, and Linda was already taking me under her wing. I spent the rest of the day with her backstage at shows. She kept reminding me that although everything was changing that it would be an exciting new chapter. She was right. I was 15 at the time and continued to be my father’s constant companion. I travelled to Europe with him to the collections every season until I was 21 and was on almost every shoot, those are some of my favorite memories. To me the term “Supermodel” describes a collection of woman who gave a lost girl guidance and hope when she needed it most. My gratitude knows no bounds.
  15. Thanks, Tito! No, that is not Linda, but it sure does look like her at first glance!
  16. Another version (German?) of the classic Pizza Hut commercial with Cindy Crawford. :wub2:
  17. ^Linda married???? If it is really true, then I have to give her credit for keeping things quiet. PhilA and Brazilianaffair, thanks for those Derimod ads. A couple of them are new to me. Derimod is probably my favorite ad campaign that Linda did during the 2000s. It's a Turkish leather brand, and circulation was limited but they're soooo awesome!
  18. ^WOW. Let me say it again. WOW. Great posts, awesome pics. Thanks!
  19. Great posts! A lot of pics I've never seen before. Thank you soooo much!! You're all beautiful!!
  20. ^Thank you! This recent article by fashion journalist Maggie Alderson isn't specifically about Linda, but I thought that her praise of Linda's amazing modeling talent was worth mentioning here: Canadian model Linda Evangelista once showed me how she could isolate the muscles in her face to make herself look quite different. It was extraordinary. Read the article here: http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/fashion/the-rules-red-rocks-20130216-2eji0.html#ixzz2LGQBYCey
  21. Thanks! I love that clip you found on Tumblr! :wub2:
  22. Where did you hear this rumour?? I hope it's true! When was the last time Linda was on the cover of Vogue UK?? Eons ago....
  23. This is an incredibly beautiful cover. Kudos to Meisel and Vogue Italia!
  24. ^awww...so cute! :wub2:
  25. ^ Never saw that one before! These are great finds! Thanks again, La Parisienne! As I'm looking at these pics, I'm realizing that Linda really was different and almost freaky looking, compared to the rest of the girls from that era. In a beautiful sort of way, of course. She most definitely stood out.
