  1. Thanks for the clip and the other Barney's ad, La Parisienne! I enjoy your posts. And thanks to Sanja, for the video. Great stuff! I love seeing Linda in interviews because they are rare and hasn't done many of them throughout her career. It made me wish she would return to the runway away again!
  2. HA! Love it! Classic Barney's ads photographed my Steven Meisel! Thanks so much La Parisienne!
  3. Great stuff! Thanks! And here's "blonde" Linda again...fast forward 10 years...
  4. ^Bravo! Classic Linda! Thanks brazilanaffair! And that shot of Linda at the Valentino gallery in #4809 is spectacular! I wish I had large version of that framed. It's really a special picture that captured an amazing moment. Thank you, megamedred77!
  5. Thanks for Alaia restrospective...love it! Linda by Arthur Elgort, 1991
  6. ^That's a great video tribute by VogueSpirit. Thanks for posting. Has anyone ever noticed that LInda has never promoted herself in a book? She doesn't do Facebook, and she doesn't have a Twitter account. And she has never authorized any "official" fan sites or FB.
  7. ^Thank you! Please come back to the catwalk, Linda! (I doubt you're reading this but one can hope!)
  8. Such fantastic pics. All we see of Linda these days are editorial shots and these photos are a reminder that this megamodel really and truly worked the catwalks for many years. Thank you, brazillianaffair!
  9. ^Oh. My. Goodness. I think I've died and gone to heaven. Those are just freaking amazing runway shots. La Linda looks divine.
  10. ^Thanks, Tito. But for sake of clarification, that's a book cover, not a magazine cover.
  11. ^WOW. Some great shots, and many that I've never seen before. Thanks! I wish Linda would return to the catwalk again.
  12. Fabulous! Magnificent! Gorgeous! Beautiful! (Can you tell I love the pics?) :wub2:
  13. The nose and the brows, right? Thanks, again, brazillianaffair! I *love* this! Thanks so much, PhilA! So Linda has modeled as a superhero twice in her career?
  14. Thank you so much, brazilianaffair! I've never seen some of these runway shots before. Something that struck me from these runway shots is not only the constant changes in hairstyle, but also the changes in her face. She can look like a completely different person as she goes from thick brows to thin brows, full lips to thin lips. The metamorphosis is surreal.
  15. ^ One word about those runway shots: WOW
  16. Augustin is sooooo cute!
  17. Coool! But what exactly is this event...?
  18. She's not wearing much makeup, if any at all. Maybe this is before the event...? I read that she prefers to keep her brows bleached and thin these days for sake of versatility. I prefer them fuller. Looking forward to seeing the pics. Here's a clip from MTV's House of Style from 1995 with Jon Stewart (yes, THAT Jon Stewart) backstage with Linda and Kate Moss. Linda shows up at 2:06. Enjoy!
  19. ^Thanks! So much power and meaning behind those images from that landmark issue of W. You can tell that La Linda really enjoyed working on this editorial. She's in her element here. And I couldn't agree more with Dennis Freedman's statement in the video: "She (Linda) is, without a doubt, one of the greatest 'actress-models' that ever lived."
  20. ^Thanks for the statistics, Alex! I always heard the same about Claudia. I would think that Cindy and Kate Moss are also up there in overall high magazine cover statistics. Something to keep in mind about the Vogue statistics -- there are more editions in recent years than in the past. Even Gisele had a greater advantage than the original supers because of this. I should say "has" because Gisele is still considered young and marketable compared to the original supers. Linda is VERY lucky to have two Vogue covers this year (Italia and Russia) for being 47-years old. I, myself, am surprised. Once a model hits 40, it's tough road ahead. Once a model hits 45, they should consider themselves EXTREMELY fortunate. And when you think about the overall fashion magazine market, it's so much easier for a model to accumulate covers because of the multiple covers that many magazines release today. Some of the old Vogues weren't even released on a monthly basis before 1990.
  21. Yes, Linda interviewed Pedro Almodovar for Elle UK in 1996 and he told her he wanted to cast her as "a suburban housewife with problems." I found the interview here: http://www.levangelista.net/PhotoGallery/thumbnails.php?album=47 More than once, Linda has been called the greatest actress in stills (photos). Actually, I have to disagree with you in regards to Claudia Schiffer. I think Toni Gaarn was cast perfectly. She looks much more innocent than Claudia. I was just reading how this editorial is based on the movie with Greto Garbo from back in the 1930s. Linda plays a rich Russian duchess (as if she hasn't done this before...LOL) and Toni Gaarn plays a woman who falls in love with the count. I think Toni played her part very well here.
  22. ^OH. MY. GOD. I *love* this editorial!! :wub2: Linda is playing this role so devilishly well !! Thanks for posting!
  23. Couldn't be more pleased that Linda got the Vogue Russia cover. I think it's really beautiful. I was looking at her covers for 2012 and each one is so different! http://www.levangeli...s.php?album=627 The supplement editorial from Vogue Russia is also very, very good. Seriously, if there were acting awards equivalent of "oscars", Linda would win with that editorial, hands down. Transformation into Toni Garrn's rich, neurotic mother or step-mother? Love it! Linda looks borderline evil in those two pics! Now I am curious about the main editorial. The corset shot by Mario Testino for the December issue of Allure is great. Linda has been doing stuff this year that she hasn't done in a long time, mainly because she's lost so much weight. JOEh, I think you're the Joe that used to post at tFS back when it was a fun and friendly site. I am so glad you found those Oribe videos. Talk about lost pages of fashion history! They are gems! Thank you. Back to the topic of the cover, I am reminded of Linda from her appearance in "Too Funky" from 1992 (??)
