Fair enough... See, I don't wanna be bitchy or something, but there is a difference between a "period" and a "decade" Just to get it straight, no offence On a more relevant note... I voted for the 90's because I associate those times with some models that are generally considered "classic", like Cindy Crawford (my all-time favorite model), Eva Herzigova or Claudia Schiffer... And I like classic things, so voting in this poll was basically a sentiment-driven thing for me. I also love the 50's, 60's and 70's because there was no photoshopping. Models looked genuine. For example, if you look at Playboy centerfolds from the 60's and 70's, you can see REAL women. The 1980's introduced a change in this matter, models started to look like perfect instances of feminity. And the 1990's/2000's were virtually plagued by digital photo editing Nowadays, all I see in men mags are beauty monsters, and not really women as they actually look. Lets not get bogged down in semantics! Agree with you though 100%, and with Kiki's last post -- especially in regards to Playboy. If Playboy ever had another Cynthia Myers, for example, men would never actually know she was a real living person who was really incredibly beautiful, because they would just plastic up her pictures and you wouldn't know if it was real or not, and would just presume it was all fake. Sad state of affairs, but the good news is most people ARE getting sick of it now. Hopefully there will be a backlash. I think when you're 16 it's easy to feel that the expectations placed upon your sex by the media are real, Kiki, I agree, but when you get a little older you realise they're not. When it gets down to it, everyone has their own preferences -- tall, short, super skinny, slender, rounder, waxed, slightly waxed, unwaxed, long hair, short hair, talkative, shy, American, European... the list is of course endless. What is happening in Western society is that people are using and building up the media in order to move away from our own reality and further into our minds and our dark human desires about power, voyeurism, and sexuality. Yet, it's important to remember it's just fantasy. I drool over lots of pictures of actors who have been photoshopped to have extra muscles, smoother faces, stronger jaws, etc, but that doesn't mean I expect all men to be like that. God, if they were it would be gross! No metrosexuals or synthetic men for this girl I'll take my men just as hairy and complicated as they have been for centuries Anyway, rant off

^ I answered that question in my intro. I feel the late 00s were very different to the early 00s and are in the process of becoming the early 10s ( as is the case with most decades). So, in order to give people the choice of saying " I think NOW is the best period", I added that catagory. I didn't want to call it the 10s because the 10s has only just started! Either it's not true, or maybe Gisele's work therefore pay has gone down ( she doesn't have VS anymore, and it's not like she needs to be paid tons of money -- she already has millions!) and Lara's has gone up. I voted for the 80s. It had some of my fav girls from the 70s and some of my favs from the 90s, plus the make-up and photoshoot styling was awesome! The body shape was healthy with the curvy and toned " hardbody" look in vogue, and interesting style statements prevailed ( crazy hair, piercing eyes, thick eyebrows, block colours, etc.). I just love it.

A lot of people in this thread have said they don't understand why people don't like her for VS. I'll clear this up for you -- Chanel's body is stick thin! Stick thin is not usually seen as sexy. VS is a sexy show. However, with the amount of flat-butted stick thin white girls that VS sent down the Runway for 09, Chanel was not the worst. At least in the blue suit she looked like she had a little booty.

^ Lol! Not a Lara fan, kiki? I'm not saying I love her so much therefore she might be the top model of the 10s, but there's a lot of buzz about her right now and she is the highest paid model. So, unless she suddenly falls into oblivion, she could be a remembered face of this new decade
