PnV NETWORK INTERVIEW FOR FASHIONABLY MALE BY KIMBERLY CAPRIOTTI June 10, 2016 In 2015 I was lucky enough to get to know a wonderful guy, Casey Jackson, as he became one our Feature Models. During that time I was also able to meet a key member of his team and his manager Lydia Brock. After Casey’s feature and his skyrocketing success she came to me and said “I’ve got this new guy that is definitely PnV style, his name is Nick Scherner. As I did my research I learned that she was definitely right. Nick has one of those unforgettable faces and like Casey before him, I’m sure big things are in his future! Nick was nice enough to sit down with me for a quick interview. The entire team is involved in this presentation. Chris Chase: Nick I know you’re a busy guy having just finished your school year. I know the summer is chock full of opportunity and I appreciate your time. Let’s get started with just your basic stats. Nick Scherner: Absolutely Chris! Thanks for the opportunity. Height: 6’1.5” Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Bday: May 1st Hometown: Columbus, OH CC: We love those humble Midwest guys! I know growing up we all had heroes. Who’s your childhood hero? NS: I’d have to say Batman! CC: The caped crusader was my favorite too. How long have you been in the business and what drove you to be a model? NS: I’ve been in the business for about 1 year . Lydia reached out to me and I really didn’t know much about modeling until she approached me. The rest is history so to speak. Lol CC: Well you certainly are part of an amazing team! What are your long term aspirations? NS: HMMM…Long term I plan to be the CFO of a business. CC: Well that’s a great goal! If you weren’t modeling, what would you be doing? NS: Well I would just continue to focus on school and the future. CC: Like all models staying in tip top shape is imperative. What does your workout routine look like? NS: I work out 4-6 times a week focusing on each muscle group. CC: So what is a perfect day for Nick? NS: A perfect day would consist of playing soccer, watching a movie, eating a lot of food and sleeping. LOL. CC: What’s your favorite cheat food? NS: Pop tarts! CC: I LOVE the maple brown sugar Pop Tarts! What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? NS: In my spare time I love playing soccer and sleeping. CC: Sleeping is definitely one of my favorite things to do! Give me a rundown of your favorites. NS: Favorite TV show: The Office Favorite Movie: The Imitation Game Favorite music: Hip Hop Favorite Sports Team: Cleveland Cavaliers CC: The Office is my favorite show too! If I asked your friends to describe you, what would they say? NS: They would say I am very outgoing and personable! CC: Give me one word to describe yourself and tell me why. NS: Honest, the truth is always important even if it isn’t what people want to hear. CC: Amen! Who inspires you? NS: My grandmother inspires me for sure! CC: So in five years Nick Scherner …? NS: In 5 years hopefully I’ll be successful and living in a big city like Chicago. CC: Finally, Tell me something few people know about you. NS: Something people don’t know is that I enjoy spending time alone. Lol Chris Chase: That’s what I’d say! Sometimes there’s nothing better than time to yourself to recharge! INTERVIEW - MALE MODEL SCENE JUNE 2016 ISSUE How were you discovered?My mom and I were eating lunch in Beverly Hills for some reason. Anyway, a scouter from Ford approached us and asked if I would swing by their office. Caught me off guard but I ended up signing that day. If you weren’t a model what would you be? Honestly I have no idea. I had such a different idea of how life would be and modeling really opened my eyes to all the opportunities life offers. Now my goals and view on life has changed. I love to travel, meet new interesting people, and I have definitely grown to love the industry. I have some things in the works I am really excited about. Did becoming a model change your life in any way? Most definitely. I come from a small town, Glendora, only about 40 minutes away from LA on a good day. It’s an amazing place but at the same time it felt like a bubble to me. Which, in its own way, is beautiful. I am a wonderer though, so for me modeling was a great way to give me that freedom. I feel I have become much more open minded, I became a vegetarian [laughs], and I had the opportunity to see places and meet people that shaped a piece of me that wouldn’t have otherwise. Have you set any objectives for yourself in regards to your life and career? Yes, I have many goals I want to accomplish in my lifetime. One of my main goals is to give back. I am very interested in environmental activism. I feel like I have been given so much and am so happy to be alive and healthy. I probably watch too many documentaries but I want to help make a difference anyway I can. What is your downtime like? I spend a lot of time outdoors, rock climbing, hiking, skydiving, and I love to camp amongst many other things. I enjoy building custom furniture for my place out of recycled wood and steel. I have 3 dogs, and love spending time with friends and family. What do you enjoy the most in life? Heavy question. I would say life itself. Living day to day working towards your goals while remembering to enjoy life because it goes by pretty damn fast. No expectations and doing what makes you happy. What’s no fun? Being sick. I am sick at the moment and not being able to do what I love blows. Favorite movie? I haven’t really been watching movies lately. More documentaries, so at the moment probably because it interest me so much I would have to say, “Racing Extinction” What’s your signature style? I just got home from a backpacking trip in Peru. Hiked 60 miles through the jungle in 5 days. So right now I am rocking a mustache. Don’t know how well its being taken since I had two castings and no bookings but we will see [laughs]. Do you do anything to your hair? I wear hats, mom had me in hats since I was born. I have so much hair I don’t know what to do with it, so I usually just let it do its thing. Name the famous person you’d most like to meet? Elon Musk, Leonardo DiCaprio, these guys are wealthy indeed but they are conscious of our footprint on earth and actually do something about it! Name three places that you want to travel to. Hard to choose only three. I would like to do a trek in Milford Sound, New Zealand. I would like to have an adventure in Iceland. And I would love to visit Egypt. But I do have many other goals of places I want to visit, maybe even before those. Three words that sum you up: Artistic, Adventurous, and Detailed. PIOLO PASCUAL Piolo Pascual, born at 8:46 PM on January 12, 1977 at Ospital ng Maynila Medical Center in Malate, Manila, is the youngest son of Amelia "Amy" Nonato Pascual, and Philip Victoriano Pascual who is half-Spanish and half-German. Piolo's father was the son of Harold Herzig, a full-blooded German, and his Filipina wife with Spanish descent, Aurora Victoriano. Harold Herzig, however, died while Piolo's father was young, which led to the remarriage of Piolo's grandmother to a Pascual. While growing up, Piolo enjoyed a close bond with his siblings—Chiqui, Paulette, Pam, Choi, and Patricia—despite their own father's early death. His father was a casting director for international films that are shot in the Philippines, though Piolo can't recall if it affected his ambition on becoming an actor, ramp model or a performer. He lived an ordinary life; he went to school and spent time on outings and celebrations with his family. Piolo attended elementary and high school at St. Francis School in Santa Ana, Manila. When he was in 5th Grade, Piolo joined the school theater group, Teatro Ni Kiko, where he was introduced to the world of theater and acting. While he was in third year high school, Piolo started appearing in That's Entertainment, a popular teen variety show that aired in the 1990s. He eventually left That's Entertainment, however, to get into college full-time, studying at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), where he studied AB General Education. He later shifted to Physical Therapy in preparation for his immigration to the U.S. Around 1996, however, Piolo had to put his studies and career plans on hold due to his imminent migration to the U.S. Pascual joined his family in the U.S. that year. They lived in Los Angeles, where Piolo worked as an ER representative in a hospital where his mother worked. When Pascual turned 21, he decided to return to Manila in order to pursue his acting career once again.
