A bit of feedback, try experimenting with the cuts a little bit more, perhaps cropping them where you feel comfortable. A nicely lined up cut makes all the difference in the world. Also, disable resample. I'm not sure which software you are using but if you are using VEGAS, go to your project settings it can be there. Otherwise right click all the clips in your timeline and go switches and disable resample.

By her own allegation she says it was a verbal agreement which implies there was not such clause.

I think its important to pace yourself. You dont need to follow her workout exactly to the letter(unless you can absolutely handle it and dont mind). You have to build yourself to that point.
