These are variations on a theme that simply the best posted a dozen or so pages ago. But there are MORE and they don't have writing on them. That's got to be worth something hasn't it? Hope you like...- Elvis Presley
The Holy Southern Trinity: Elvis, Jesus, Robert. E. Lee... Is this how it plays out in Georgia, penny?- Elvis Presley

I wanted to post a little on Elvis as a religious icon... His massive fame and premature death has raised him to a level that few non-religious icons have achieved. Indeed, as a simply iconic figure - a symbol across all media - he's only really challenged by Jesus himself. You may have (my own countryman) Che Guevara, Hello Kitty(!), Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, etc. But Elvis towers over them all. To such an extent that some people get a, uh, a little...mixed up: I like the fact that in Hawaii he's still hailed as a 'Son of the Islands' after his many visits and professed love of the State. This is a sweet little religious votive for those in times of beach/ocean type troubles:- Elvis Presley

A little bit of ODDITORIUM culture... ("culture" is a very LOOSE term within these hallowed walls!) NIGHTHAWKS (Edward Hopper 1942) This painting by Hopper is an evocative piece of alienation and melancholy; and has often been parodied - most famously this one "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" which supplants the diners with Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and Humphrey Bogart: But, frankly, that's a little tame for OUR standards. Please enjoy: (Ah, consumerism takes it's toll - which, inevitably leads us HERE>) (>ALWAYS - fellow posters... ALWAYS) (SOD IT, )- QUIZ: Guess who's who in cyberspace..?
Hah! Well, that was a SPECTACULAR failure - Even by my underwhelming standards... Me, I'm going to retreat - ashamed - back to my pathetic hovel, to recover from the embarrassment and wipe the egg off of my face. I may be some time...Account
