  1. Better a healthy-looking, beautiful, "commercial" model than an anorexic, chain-smoking, HF waif. And as much as I would also like to see new, more creative editorials, does it really matter in the end? Celebs have taken over (as we all know), but VS and SI have both remained the bastions of high-profile modeling and with Marisa on top of both, she's exactly where she needs to be and where no other model currently is.
  2. With all the names of SI models being thrown around here, VS might as well just hire the entire 2008 bunch for the show. At least that way the VSFS would have a greater variety of women who are all curvy, attractive, and womanly. Actually, I don't want a host at all. They don't need someone to announce the segments. Well, until VS announces a host, which probably won't happen, I see no need to worry.
  3. That's true of course about the extensions, but Marisa's hair was also really long in the NFL commercial. I want to see more pics shot by this Steven Lippman guy. He did Marisa's "Malibu" shoot and the recent Harley ads, and I'd like to see what he'd do with an SI shoot with Marisa. The guy obviously has more creativity than the photographer she's worked with the past few years and creativity is something SI is in need of.
  4. MEN

Now that's a bit of a sexist statement! What are the duties required as a woman exactly? Cooking dinner? Raising the kids? Cleaning the house? If you believe these tasks are still the sole duty of women, then you're just as much a victim of accepting sexist societal norms as the men who deny their emotions, of whom you criticize! And I mostly agree with red_ed: society has always said men have to be stoic. Just think about what the adjective "masculine" implies: strong, brave, proud, dominant/aggressive, sexual, a leader, etc. Nowhere will you see it including sensitive, emotional, and open -- those are classic characteristics of femininity, for better or worse, and women too are trained to evaluate men by the classic masculine traits, which only makes it even less likely men will change.
  5. ^ Thanks for the pics, Julia! In this last one it kind of looks like she had her hair cut, but maybe that's just the styling. Either way, her hair is reeeally long in the Harley pics, which makes me wonder what VS is going to do with all of it for the VSFS.

    Metallica's "Death Magnetic" album - it's amazing :|
  7. Riiiight. Me especially. We need more pics!
  8. 2004 More than five is too many Angels, and you know it's a high-powered group when Alessandra is the baby of them.
  9. ^ Old dirty bastard?
  10. ^ You know you want in on that threesome.
  11. ^ "Cartel" is actually Marisa's management, from which there are two people (Meggie and Zoe) who post updates and new stuff for us. So not only is Marisa awesome by posting more than any other model, but her management is awesome too.

^ Part of your wish has been granted! The Browns socked it to the Giants, and Romo could be out for an entire month with a broken pinkie finger. If you're using some sort of hex, I'd like to learn it.
  13. Wherever you work, widget, I'm putting in an application. Next, you should mention about wanting a raise on a Friday and maybe you'll have it on Monday. And thanks for the pics, inaseap!
  14. ^ Nanda said they're studying to become actresses. :trout: Maybe the album will come after that.
  15. I checked out the section of Harley's website where they have the "extras" of Marisa, but it really wasn't much. Just two wallpapers of the same pic (that we've already seen), the behind-the-scenes vid, and the pic in my sig saying you can pick up a double-sided poster-size version of it if you stop by a store, which I'm a little tempted to do. Hopefully we'll get new stuff from the campaign from Cartel.
  16. ^ Thanks, Nanda! Not really a fan of the red hair (it makes them look like pop-star wannabes).

    Go... err... Giants.
  19. ^ Maybe the book will appeal to girls/women more, but I found it reeeally dull. The premise is interesting, but the author fails to do anything with it. That's why I'm saying you might be sorry you read the book.
  20. I'm gonna read it too You might be sorry.
  21. Recently finished with the waste-of-time "Time Traveler's Wife" and now reading the very optimistic () "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy. Yeah, considering how many copies The Kite Runner has sold and how much praise it's gotten, it was a big, dull disappointment.
  22. Thanks, Julia!
