Wasn't the party in Vegas last year too? And the cover was revealed in NYC? I doubt the party being in Vegas this year means much in determining where the covermodel will be for the reveal since it's three days earlier.

EDIT: I've changed my mind. Sarcasm will only egg such people on. Instead I'll just say to dizzy that feeling the need to insert such negativity into a positive moment for Marisa fans is truly classless. I feel in a generous mood, so I'll just assume your comment was rash (as someone who obviously doesn't like Marisa and wants her gone) and that in hindsight you're mature enough to know you would have been better off not saying anything at all.

^ I'll have lost all faith in SI if they do a shot of Greene advertising SoBe drinks as the cover. :| I'm allowing myself a minuscule hope Marisa will get a surprise cover. Her return to SI would get a lot of press (going by the Askmen list, she's the world's most popular model right now), and if the cover is being revealed on Superbowl Sunday, it would only make sense that the covermodel be in Miami for the game, and Marisa will be there doing a public event that would serve as a nice little "primer" for the cover's publicity. I'm not holding my breath though.

So... the word on BZ here is that the cover is being revealed on Feb. 7th? Are we sure about that? Letterman (on whose show the last two covers were revealed) does not broadcast on weekends, and the 7th is Superbowl Sunday, which is a great day to release a cover, assuming you want no one to notice it. Unless SI is going to do the reveal at some point during the festivities to cash in on all the Superbowl's viewers?

I can't wait to see how Savanna and Lost Soul dismiss Marisa being back on the All Access page as meaningless. :morning:

^ Great news, since her being removed from that list is what started all this! I guess this means Marisa successfully renegotiated her Angel contract.

I can imagine that statement will be met with some derision. I think a supermodel, put simply, is a model with a great amount of fashion credibility/respect as well as a public profile high enough that she borders on being, or is, a household name (often due to non-fashion work - i.e., Cindy Crawford and her Pepsi commercials). By that standard, IMO at least, there are no current supermodels. The models with all the fashion credibility have very limited to no public presence, and the models with the highest public presence have limited fashion credibility. I'm not even sure Gisele counts anymore: it seems her public presence has taken a nose-dive post-VS, at least here in the US.

Are we even sure this Canada event thing is co-sponsored by VS? Any company can shell out some money to get some lower-rung VS models and advertise it like it's a VS event by repeatedly pointing out that they've worked for the company.

^ Pink simply pointed out that Marisa was no longer listed on the AllAccess page. That's not starting a rumor. That's stating a fact. It's not a rumor until someone starts implying more than what's on the surface and spreading it around to everyone who'll listen. That part was left to a pair of another model's fans who have a bit of trouble with what the truth is versus what they want the truth to be.

^ No. A couple BZers were spreading that rumor, but Limited Brands/VS released a statement saying they planned on continuing to work with Marisa and that they are currently in negotiations with her.

The issue is a little hazy at this point, but I think a lot of people are leaning toward "no." Particularly the haters.

I Conan, but I wasn't one of his old fans who carried over to The Tonight Show every episode. I'm sorry, Conan, this is all my fault! I watched the last week though and it was great. It's always fun to see someone trash his bosses on air, and the surprise guests were great. Letterman getting in on the act was funny too. I do wish the ending of the last show was better though. That "Free Bird" rendition was just stupid (poor Beck and Billy Gibbons clearly had no idea what they were doing there), but Neil Young made up for it earlier. I hope no one watches The Tonight Show when Leno goes back. Bastard. Screw NBC too. They deserve all their low ratings.
