^ Maybe what you read was this (it's a further reading link in the article/gallery you posted), which confirms that Greene will only be in ads within the issue. So no worries, people, she's not officially an SI model. And no, the models don't appear in the ads.

When it turns out to be true, you heard it from me first: this isn't an editorial - Greene is going to be in a Sobe advertisement within the issue and Sobe is going to use the confusion and hype for publicity.
