If all of the new angels were truly signed for three years each (and we don't know that for sure, it's just assumed based on past history), then that's going to be one stagnant angel line-up for the forseeable future. At the very least, we will probably be looking at Adriana, Alessandra, Rosie, Candice, Lindsay, Emanuela, and Chanel for the next three years. At the end of the day I'm a VS fan so I'm hoping Lindsay can step up and become my pet favorite. I still believe that the fact that they greenlighted the show with just their four core non-pregnant angels is a good thing. It proved that the company didn't just revolve around one or two people - no matter how much of a "name" they might have. Regardless of which angels might be on their way out, I don't see it as an indictment upon them as models. Most angels stick around for 3 to 4 years, and then they move on. Even Laetitia, one of the sexiest angels, wasn't a long tenured one. Marisa, Miranda and Doutzen all have things going for them, so I think they'll be okay if they go and there won't be any hard feelings. They would have all had good, positive runs with the company. It's different from a Selita or Izabel who had negative sentiments following them all the way through or Heidi who has the drums of the "Why won't she leave" brigade banging in her background.

Great questions Of the five new angels I would have to go with Lindsay. She's not my "favorite" but she's has the cleanest slate for me. And of the total group... 1. Miranda 2. Marisa 3. Lindsay 4. Chanel 5. Heidi 6. Doutzen 7. Rosie 8. Emanuela 9. Alessandra 10. Candice 11. Adriana

I hope there's more wings this year. They went from 10-12 wings in previous years to just 7. They could have enough wings to go around for all of their angels if they wanted. It would just mean less for the other random models that they put in the shows. Too bad the public won't know who the hell they are. VS hasn't exactly done a great job of turning their angels into household names, and it doesn't help that a lot of them haven't had much going for them besides VS. Look how long it took for Adriana and Alessandra to build up a following, and I still don't think either of them are on a mainstream, first name status in the traditional sense of the word. I think Lindsay and Chanel have the most spokesmodel potential with them being Americans. They wouldn't have been my first choices, but they have more of the charisma than the "hot" that I mentioned believing VS needs.

Makes perfect sense to me, but she'll have to prove that she's worth keeping. I think she's an asset, but I don't think she's secure enough to where the company wouldn't think she's expendable. Just the sheer number of new angels signed makes me wonder where she stands with them. I don't think her status would be so shaky if VS didn't have models going for their silver anniversaries with the company.

I think she'll be okay if she ends up going. She's reasonably famous in Australia. She has her book, skin care line, and has shown her diversity in the last couple of months with her modelling work. The three editorials that have just been released in the last month put ALL of her VS work to shame. Where the hell has THAT Miranda been this entire time? I hope she can keep it up to some extent. VS took her career to another level that it would not have been at otherwise, and I think if she's smart she can turn all of that into a more longterm career back home if it turns out that her time with the company is winding down - and we don't know that just yet. If she is around for 2 more years as speculated, then that would make 5 or so years as an angel. That's a pretty good run, I think. Not too long, not too short, but unfortunately not very memorable either. And just over a year later three of them were gone. Even if Heidi goes, that would take them down to 10. Unless they want to market their line-up as "The Perfect 10" or something, it's still a lot. The more angels you have, the more it dilutes the exclusivity that the contract once had. I could also argue that signing 5 at once (and some of them being very unknown and lackluster) does that as well.

People will argue that they are the most popular and famous ones, but no matter how popular they are, there's still a such thing as staying too long. Hell, Heidi is famous and popular, but it doesn't stop people from saying she needs to go. Because they have already been with the company so long, the longer Adriana and Alessandra stick around, the more you will hear the same things about them. I see what VS is doing by adding all of these younger girls. They have an "older" line-up right now. Heidi = 36 Marisa = 31 Adriana & Alessandra = 28 Miranda = 26 Doutzen = 25 If Adriana and Alessandra end up being around 5 more years, that'll put them at 33 when their deals ended. If Marisa signed an extension she'd be in her mid 30s when the deal ended. Same with Miranda. She'd be almost 30 or in her early 30s when her contract ended if she was extended. With these new girls, they have two 20 year olds (Chanel and Emanuela), a 21 year old (Candice), a 22 year old (Rosie) and a 23 year old (Lindsay). I think they are adding youth more than anything. I can't see all of them panning out. I can't see any of them becoming iconic angels and household names ala Gisele or Tyra either, but VS is taking a big leap and trying something different and I give them a semi-golf clap for it.

I posted on the 29th that I was worried about Miranda and Doutzen's statuses. If they are on their way out, then it would suck but I'd be okay with it. As much as I wouldn't want either of them to leave because they are good additions to the line-up, I'd rather see them leave too early than stay too long. If a couple of those angels are still around 5 years from now as speculated, then you can guarantee that people will be saying the same thing about them as they say about Heidi right now. Gisele is looking smarter and smarter everyday. She definitely left at the right time. She rode the wave, and then she got out.

I didn't think they'd sign "all" of them, and I could most certainly do without Candice and Emanuela, but I guess you can't win them all. I hope adding all of these models means that Alessandra will stop getting 30 catalogue covers a year. Even if they "love" her (which they clearly do), that's still insane.

I don't. I'm just thrilled that there's going to be a show after all of the speculation and assumptions that it wouldn't happen. Regardless of who does what behind the scenes, it's all about the runway. The hosting and backstage segments are negligible at best, and the model search is a waste of time. At the end of the day, the runway portion is the most important part of the show. I think VS is showing great confidence in Alessandra, Miranda, Marisa, and Doutzen. If they didn't think the four of them could hold it down on the catwalk, then they wouldn't have gone ahead with the show.

I wonder if the fantasy bra is on it's way to achieving Madden cover jinx status.

LOL, I thought a certain somebody was supposed to shoot individual scenes in a studio for the commercial. I recall a couple of people being very, very convinced and adamant about that.

It seems like everybody who put on a pair of panties is being talked about as a potential angel these days. In addition to Heidi, Adriana, Alessandra, Miranda, Marisa, and Doutzen, we have Emanuela (the imaginary angel), Candice, Rosie, and Lindsay as ones listed most often as angel contenders. That's 10 models. Out of that group - realistically who stays, goes, and joins? - Adriana and Alessandra, apparently we might be stuck with them until they are walking down the runway at 34, 35, and 36 like Heidi does. I think Heidi will be there until she decides she wants to go, and she doesn't seem to be heading in that direction. She really has no reason to though. She's a superstar. She's the most famous. Miranda, Marisa, and Doutzen. Out of the three, I think Marisa is the most secure because of her amazing spokesperson skills. Miranda brings something different to the group because she's not the busty, in your face sexpot and she also has good promotional skills and a steadily rising profile. Doutzen is a beauty. She has that classic look that none of the other angels have, but what good is it when her photographs hardly ever look good in the catalogues? Christmas is the best she's ever looked for them, but I doubt the company can keep that up. Out of the current angels, Miranda and Doutzen are the ones that I worry about the most. Even though I would keep both of them, I don't know if the company would feel the same. The main incoming contenders - Rosie, Candice, Emanuela, and Lindsay. I don't like Candice. She's a pretty girl, but I find her to be very dull and boring. Where is her buzz? Where is her profile? I think if she ends up with a contract, she will settle. She'll fall into the role of glorified panty pusher and basically depend on VS to make her a star. Every pretty girl is not cut out for angeldom. I'm waiting for that extra something to just "move" me, and it hasn't yet. Just being "hot" isn't enough. They might be better off choosing someone who oozes less hot and more charisma. Emanuela - depending on which internet expert you believe, she has been a secret angel for almost two years now. Whether or not she is already officially onboard, I am not particularly fond of her. I think VS needs a minority and some diversity in the line-up, but I just don't think Emanuela has that x-factor to make her a successful angel. Again, it takes more than a pretty face to be a valuable addition to the group. I'm neutral on Rosie and Lindsay. Neither of them move me either way, but they have the most potential out of the current group of youngsters that regularly appear in the catalogues. VS would have their work cut out for them in trying to make them household names. Since the ones I don't like aren't going anywhere (the Brazilians), I would keep the line-up as is and add one or two more models - Candice not being one of them.

76 isn't that many considering they had 68 runway outfits (not including the finale outfits last year). The problem is that they have too many models now. If they take the number back to between 26-28 like in 2003-2006 instead of the 35 that they had last year, then they would have enough outfits for each model to get at least 2 walks.

I think Miranda got more pictures than Candice as well. And despite how pretty as Candice is, I think VS needs another blonde angel like they need a hole in their head.

Even if there were no fantasy bra at all, there would still be poor people in the world without a home and nothing to eat.

Miranda did mention having a one day shoot in July for a "Miraculous Bra" campaign for VS. A July shoot should be an October or November release. So, it's possible that could have been a fantasy bra shoot. But it's just as possible it was just a normal bra campaign/commercial (which would still be awesome regardless). And, um, isn't it "time" for her to have a facebook profile? A facebook profile in conjunction with the fantasy bra? I don't think there's a clear frontrunner for the fantasy bra this year. VS has done a good job of evenly spreading out the in-store appearances this year. Leaving out the pregnant angels, Alessandra, Marisa, and Miranda have all done at least four in-store appearances in 2009. Doutzen is the only one that's behind the rest as she's only done two in-store events this year, but getting the bra would raise her profile in a major way. Would VS be so obvious as to use her face for the reveal announcement though? They can't be that dense. If Ale is truly out of the running, I think it's between the two Ms for the bra - Miranda and Marisa with Marisa having a slight edge because of her longevity with the company. Both of them have a lot of positive buzz happening right now, so either one would be a good choice.

There's a difference in being in the "fashion show" and being in the "television special." That's probably the distinction that people are making. Even though both of them might do something in the CBS production, unless they are on the catwalk, they aren't in the actual VSFS. It's very possible for Heidi. She was all belly in her pregnancy, and if she tones up just enough then they can easily put her in an outfit similar to one of Marisa's black ones or Ana Beatriz or Emanuela's silver and black one from last year. Even something like her own Ballet de Fleurs outfit she wore would work as it covers up just enough. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see her make one special walk - closing the show with wings. That'd actually be pretty cool. As for the fantasy bra, it is not about fairness or who "deserves" it most. It's about who would be the best choice of the moment, and looking back on it, I think every selection has been the right one for the time: even Selita's 2007 appearance. It had a poor presentation on the runway with the christmas tree cape, but it was fitting for her. The only other realistic option that year would have been Alessandra, and I can see VS not wanting to give her the bra before they gave it to Adriana.

I want to see Hind Sahli in the show. I'm usually not big on having super youngsters in the show, but she is gorgeous.
