Miranda came in #10 on AskMen's Top 99 Women of 2010 list. She was #46 in 2009 and (I think) #19 in 2008.

Well the codes of the Vogue Russia pictures say pg-1, pg-2, pg-4, and pg-11. If those are accurate, then I hope there's 6 to 8 better looking pictures to come from the ed. Flare hits newsstands soon (if not already), and the ed from that looks promising based on the preview video. I'm just happy that she's continued her run of fashion work from the fall into the new year.

It's possible, MissLimaVzla. Just to clarify my earlier post, the three scenarios I think are possible based on recent VS history are: 1. The Early Spring cover is the main Valentine's cover (as it used to be up until 2007). After all, it does have the word "Valentine" on it. 2. The images used for Valentine's might be spread out over both the Early Spring/Spring Fashion V1 catalogs as it was last year with the Vintage Victoria campaign. 3. The Candice cover isn't the main Valentine's cover, and Alessandra (or another model) has shot a separate Valentine's Day cover. This is based on Alessandra tweeting that she shot for V-Day. (It's possible whatever she shot could be just advertising or promotional pictures for the stores or VS pressroom. There's no guarantee that it's actually a Valentine's cover.) The fact that VS hasn't done a "Valentine's Day" type cover since 2006 makes it less clear what they will do this year. We'll just have to wait and see.

From Candice's thread... I didn't want to clog it up with random info unrelated to her. The Early Spring cover has been the Valentine's Day cover in the past. VS changed the name from "Valentine's Day" to "Early Spring" in 2007. Since then, they haven't had a traditional Valentine's Day cover. The last five Early Spring/Valentine's Day covers - 2005 to 2009 The last five Spring Fashion V1 covers - 2005 to 2009 They've been doing Valentine's themes instead of Valentine's covers since changing the name. In 2007, Alessandra shot an online backdrop (it was a red background with her in leopard lingerie). In 2008, it was "What Is Sexy" with the E! special. Last year's Early Spring and Spring Fashion V1 covers both incorporated the same theme - Vintage Victoria, which was the theme for Valentine's Day. Some of the writing on the Candice cover does say, "This Valentine's Day, Victoria's Secret... blah, blah, blah" (I can't see the rest. My eyesight isn't that good), so they might do something similar this year (linking Early Spring into Valentine's Day). Or maybe VS will go back to doing a traditional Valentine's cover. Alessandra did say she was shooting something for Valentine's back in November, so we'll see what they decide to do this year.

I'm not a fan of that editorial. The first picture is great, but the rest are kind of meh... But hey, it's Vogue Russia. I'll take whatever I can get that's not VS. Thanks for posting, Bruno.

^ I don't disagree with any of that, mbinebri. Azurebi, I concur on Jarah. She is very pretty. So is Jessica Gomes. Either one of them would be a fresh face in the angel line-up.

^ Actually she does shoot quite a bit more for them than the other angels. Now I do think she sells a lot because she shoots a lot, but I don't agree that she shoots a lot and gets a lot of covers because VS is all she has. I don't like Ale, but it's obvious that she gets so many covers because VS likes her. I don't see it as a negative on her at all. I just wish they liked others more. I see where you're coming from though. My simple "I want to see more variety in the covers" wasn't even intended to be an attack on Alessandra. Instead, it was turned into a conduit to do Ale bashing by others.

Nice try, but she wasn't the only one doing those shoots where she ends up with the covers. VS just chooses her anyway when they could go with someone else. It's not an indictment of her. It's an indictment on Victoria's Secret. Luckily, I think they realized it was indeed overkill and scaled back the Ale lovefest with the Christmas season. The chicken or the egg? It's not too hard to move product when you have 800 new pictures per catalog. So does the said model get a lot of product because she sells well or does she sell well because she gets a lot of product? I see one chipmunk or something hanging down in bondage and another that looks like it's peeing on Rosie's leg. Color me confused... It's possible that VS doesn't say anything because they will still be using the model for an extended period beyond the end of her contract. Gisele was basically done at the end of 2006. Nothing was said about her departure until May of 2007 because she was still heavily featured in all of the spring and summer stuff that had been shot the previous fall. If they came out on January 1st and said "Gisele is done," then the new Secret Embrace commercial with her mug all in the screen comes out in February. Looks strange, right? Also, if they haven't severed all ties with the model and still have a good working relationship (like Selita for example), it doesn't really behoove them to make a grand "She is not an angel anymore" statement. On a different note: I think it's time for VS to do another "Sexy" book. It's been 5 years since the last one.

The long way is to use the VS Browser. Once you see a Miranda picture, right click on it to get the URL. Change the "prodpri2" part to "prodzoom" and it gives you the large size. Some of her new ones start around 294630 and the last new one that I saw was around 297899. You have to have patience for all of that. I'm too lazy to do all of that though. I download 1000 at a time. So you can do that to look for Miranda pictures or... That one should be next week when the Spring Fashion and Lookbooks are put online.

I think this is the look they were going for with this particular shot. I like it. It reminds me of the MAC Barbie ads with Emanuela and some blonde whose name I can't recall. I actually prefer Candice all dolled up and airbrushed in this way. I don't think she's as pretty or stands out that much when she has more of a natural look.

^ Yeah, she got the Valentine's cover. I posted it in her thread a few hours ago. One of my VS complaints is of them not spreading the catalog covers out among angels/models. In the last 3 years, Alessandra has had more than 80 covers. No one else even comes close. Imagine if she hadn't gotten pregnant. She would probably have even more. I am cautiously optimistic about the 2010 cover start. So far this year, four different models have gotten the covers. Spring Preview - Miranda Swim V1N1 - Rosie Swim V1N2 - Lindsay Early Spring/Valentine's Day - Candice The year is young though. Ale Domination could be just around the corner. Even if it was just an even spread among models with one model not openly dominating, that would be far better than Ale getting more than 30 again.

You guessed correctly, but it does appear that they are still using Marisa's image in the catalog for right now. Either that or they re-shot the campaign with Candice exactly the way Marisa did. The picture of Marisa in the online catalog is so small though that you can't see it clearly. Anyone that doesn't know better could easily think it's Candice. I'm sure that was deliberate on VS's part. It's probably why Candice was the one chosen to do that shoot. I guess we'll know for sure what images are used for the full campaign when it is officially re-launched next week. This shot could just be a teaser image, and the actual campaign could be totally different. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they could incorporate some of Marisa's original images.

New VS - This is just a few of them. There's probably more on the servers. I didn't feel like getting them. I'm bored with her VS work. She's so much better in the work she does outside of the company.

I can see that happening. I'm not a fan myself, but I can see her appeal. Large breasts, blonde hair, an SI fan base, and famous husband - all of those things work in her favor. VS could still use a redhead and an Asian in their line-up. It doesn't have to be fire truck dominant red, but I could see Rosie standing out with a deep reddish color or red toned highlights against darker hair. I just wish VS wouldn't use so many pictures of her (Rosie) with her lips slightly parted. Given the quality of some of their catalog pictures, her shots can easily venture into that softcore category for me.

That's what I was thinking. Alessandra became an angel in 2004. Her initial 3 year contract probably would have expired some time in late 2006 or early 2007. I remember her signing something in late 2006 to become the exclusive face of VS Beauty. I figured that was her 5 year angel contract to take her to 2011 or 2012. Adriana signed her 5 year deal in late 2007 or early 2008, so that takes her through 2012. It's 2010 now so no matter what, that "five more years" song that Adriana and Alessandra have going should have already started decreasing to "four, three, two" etc... Unless of course their contracts are indeed magical which would totally explain why they never decrease in years... Gracie, Emily, and some of these other new faces could become the next VS supermodels or they could become "The Next Caroline Francischini" for VS. "The Caroline Francischini" is the model that VS falls madly in love with. They use her all over the catalogs for a year or two, and then she totally disappears off their radar.

I've been reading this for the last 2 (maybe 3) years. At some point, this number needs to start going down. In 2008, I was reading "Adriana has been signed for 5 more years." In 2009, I was reading "Adriana has been signed for 5 more years." It is now 2010 and I am still reading "Adriana has been signed for 5 more years." Not logical. I don't doubt that Adriana will eventually have Heidi's role of the "Geriatric Angel," but that "Adriana has been signed for 5 more years" refrain needs to be rewritten. When did she sign that magical 5 year contract that has somehow become frozen in time? I think VS is looking for two specific things for their angel line-up. The All-American Blonde and The Angel of Color. Most of the new faces fall into these two groups - Candice and Rosie are the only 2 of the 8 that don't. Candice still fits into that "Foreign Blonde" role that Karolina/Karen/Daniela had and Doutzen does. I said more than once that I thought signing Candice was redundant with Heidi, Marisa, and Doutzen already there. Well Marisa might already be gone and Heidi is past her expiration date. I still think Candice and Doutzen are kind of repeats though. They have similar looks to me, and I don't know if you need both of them. I think Rosie is there to try to tap into the British market when they expand overseas.
