So, do you guys remember the "Thief" games? Thief is a series of stealth video games in which the player takes the role of Garrett, a master thief in a fantasy steampunk world resembling a cross between the Late Middle Ages and the Victorian era, with more advanced technologies interspersed. The series consists of Thief: The Dark Project (1998), Thief II: The Metal Age (2000), Thief: Deadly Shadows (2004) and Thief (2014). Dark project was great. Metal age as well

It was very popular in the 1990s/early 2000s. I have memories of playing Allied Assault on the PC and Frontline on the PS2.

  9. I checked out some E3 stuff over the weekend. Some interesting stuff. I had pretty much felt that gaming industry was stuck in a rut but the new promotional efforts are showing some promise: The bethesda softworks stuff looked well done. Fallout 4's vision of post-nuclear Boston looks the most interesting and derives from Fallout 3. The modern version of Doom- the classic shooter- is retro and is different at the same time; also now relies on speed and close action for survival. Deus Ex has excellent graphics and looks like a significant upgrade from Human revolution. Most certainly these modern games have had a significant leap forward in terms of graphics an…

The first I heard of the widespread hate towards them was after the much-maligned ending of 'Mass Effect 3', and of course, the Origin debacle. Did those two things simply combine and irritate people, or is there another reason from way back when? Franchise-milking, perhaps?

I've been looking forward to this game for a long time. It's been in development for ages, but it looks like it's only a few more months away now. It's a puzzle/adventure/exploration game led by Jonathan Blow (of Braid) - one of the brightest shining lights in the industry. I love his ideas and his passion to push gaming into new realms of experiences. Always a man who's worth listening to, and I'm really excited to jump into the game. Anyone else?

It is a time of strife and unrest. Armies of revenants and dark spirits manifest in every corner of Tamriel. Winters grow colder and crops fail. Mystics are plagued by nightmares and portents of doom. Four years ago, in 2E 578, an arcane explosion of energy in the Imperial City set off mystical aftershocks that swept across Nirn. Mages died or went mad. Supernatural abominations from the plane of Oblivion, the Daedra, appeared in greater numbers than ever before. The constellation of the Serpent grew so large that it dominated the night sky. So began the grand scheme of Molag Bal, Daedric Prince of domination and enslavement. His Dark Anchors, vortexes of evil magic, …

Surprised not to see a topic yet for Skyrim on here. Anyone playing? With the right mods installed and a computer system that can support the graphics, it is possible to create models that look life-like.

Been playing this a bit since finishing Saints Row IV. I'm playing as Rome. With the relative strength of Roma heavy cavalry, it almost feels like cheating playing against the Germanic and Gallic factions.

I haven't played either of the first two games, but Saints Row: The Third was an absolute blast, and ridiculously over the top. An announce trailer just came out the other day for IV, which is due out end of August. Seems as though what was originally planned as an expansion for III has been rebadged and expanded to be a whole new game now. Looks a bit more-of-the-same, with some small additions (and seemingly superpowers), but I guess it's not all bad since I enjoyed III so much. Time will tell exactly what it is though, and whether or not it's worth the price tag

You, as Commander Shepard, must lead the counter assault to take it back. Arrives in under two weeks. I'm really excited about this title, probably more so than any of the recent TR reboots or remakes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEOOishb5fY They seem to have incorporated Skyrim-style gameplay elements, which I can only applaud.
