Real Madrid Foundation held a Gala Premios Alma for world of sports people. Rafael Nadal and Alfredo Stefano were one of the recipients.

All the Real Madrid players attended the event, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, but minus Benzema, who had to travel to Paris for Zahia case.

Iker Casillas did a great job as a presenter, and gave an award to Rafa his friend with a quote “he’s quite possibly the best Spanish athlete of all time. A great person. A great friend. I think he has all the values that Real Madrid has. For being an extraordinary person, he deserves an extraordinary award. Congratulations Rafa!”

And Sergio Ramos presented an award of National Project to the Instituciones Penitenciarias of the Ministry of the Interior and to Horizontes Abiertos. Cristiano was seen taking a picture of Sergio with his mobile and showed it to Kaká .

The players arrived together with bus, and all well-dressed.

"Mourinho has changed everything"

Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed Jose Mourinho has revolutionised life at Real Madrid since his arrival at the Santiago Bernebeu.

The Portugal forward told Marca TV that his fellow countryman has given the squad a new outlook as they bid to wrest the league title away from Barcelona.

"Mourinho's arrival has changed everything," Ronaldo said. "The coach is very good and he has brought his experience to Real Madrid. With him we have more chances to win."

While the league title is a top priority, Madrid also have their eyes on the Champions League, which Mourinho won last season with Inter Milan before heading to Spain.

"Of course, our objective is the Champions League," Ronaldo added. "A Real Madrid player must always think that is possible. I am convinced this year will be different."

Madrid needed a late equaliser, but were able to secure a 2-2 draw away to AC Milan on Wednesday night and book their passage to the knock-out stages of the competition.

Next up is the Madrid derby against Atletico on Sunday as Mourinho's men bid to extend their lead at the top of the table.

"A derby is more than just a game," said Ronaldo. "We know it is important for both teams in the city, but we do not need to prepare differently.

"We know it will be a difficult game, but we are at home and Atletico need to win."

In an interview in the current issue of SPORT BILD, the Portuguese explains that he believes German international Mesut Özil will be World Footballer [of the Year]. He also tells us what he likes about Sami Khedira and why it is a stroke of luck that his Portuguese compatriot Jose Mourinho is the manager of Real.

Ronaldo, who is the second best player in the world?

(laughs) That's a hard question. We'll see what Fifa decides.

Your colleague at Real Madrid, Mesut Özil, is also among the 23 players nominated for election "World Player 2010". Do you believe he will compete for the title?

I hope and trust that he [Ozil] will win this title for the first time. Mesut is actually a fantastic player, he has extraordinary talent. I enjoy playing with him at Real.
