March 5, 200817 yr Shah Rukh Khan: My space! Shah Rukh Khan recently bagged one more trophy — his seventh Filmfare award — to add to his impressive collection. However, when we asked him where he was going to place the Black Lady, he wittingly said, “ Masha Allah, ghar bahut bada hai...toh finding a place for it is not going to be tough.”SRK’s Mannat seems to have enough and more room for many more Black Ladies, and SRK isn’t going to fall short of getting them all. And you thought that SRK wasn’t a ladies’ man?
March 5, 200817 yr Shah Rukh’s dreamz unlimitedActor Shah Rukh Khan wants to build an underground parking lot and a swimming pool behind his Bandra residence. He has applied to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) seeking permission to construct a 20,000-sq-ft underground parking lot and a swimming pool measuring only slightly less, on the ground floor of the six-storey building he has built behind his sea-facing heritage bungalow Mannat at Bandra (West).Civic officials said the proposal has been forwarded to the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority. As Khan’s bungalow and building fall under the Coastal Regulation Zone — an ecologically sensitive area near the sea — permission from the Authority is needed to undertake any construction there. The plan, said civic sources, is related to changes in Khan’s building, which houses the actor’s extra living room, guest room, gym and some offices.Ashok Shintre, chief engineer (Development Plan, BMC), said: “The plan came to us through Khan’s architect and we have sent it for a No-Objection Certificate to the state coastal zone authority as the changes to be made are for a plot under 2 hectares in area (approximately 2 lakh sq ft). If it were more than that, we would have sent it to the Central Authority,” Shintre said.Confirming that the coastal zone authority has received the proposal from the civic body, an official said no decision had been taken.“It will be brought before the Authority in one of its meetings, when such proposals are tabled for clearance,” he added, refusing to divulge when the proposal would be discussed.Chairman of the Authority Shyamlal Goyal was not available for comment.Khan’s building is already entangled in a legal suit following a petition filed by non-governmental organisation Bhrashtachar Nirmulan Sanghatana last year, alleging that it encroached on the proposed road in the city development plan and the balconies jutted out of the plot boundary.

March 6, 200817 yr Juhi claps for SRKThe Indian film industry is rooted in superstitions. But not all superstitions are silly. This one is rather cute.Juhi Chawla believes that if she does the “clap” for the film’s first shot, the film will be a success. She did it for Bol Radha Bol and Ishq.. and now for Bhootnath. The first day of shoot was in Goa, two hours away from the hotel where the cast and crew were staying. Juhi traveled to that location at an ungodly hour to give the clap for the first shot.Recalls debutant director Vivek Sharma, “Juhi was very keen to do it. Although she had to travel a distance, the actress was completely gung-ho. Believe me, my film, Bhootnath has been built on such relationships.”Her favourite co-star Shah Rukh Khan was facing the camera for that shot. So what’s a little distance for friends, at least that’s what the chirpy Juhi believes. And for her efforts, here’s a big ‘clap’ for her.

March 12, 200817 yr I’m no harta karta in hockey, fumes SRK It couldn’t have been a more ironic setting for Shah Rukh Khan. Two days after the senior national hockey team failed to earn a ticket for the Beijing Olympics, the Bollywood superstar who last year breathed new life into Indian hockey with Chak De India!, today vented his anger at repeatedly being mentioned alongside the Olympics berth debacle.“I am no harta-karta in hockey, am I?” Shah Rukh fumed today at the launch function of the IPL’s Kolkata team, when asked by a reporter about how much he rues the downfall of Indian hockey in the backdrop of the Chak de India! euphoria last year. “I know there is a huge amount of sadness among Indian sports fans for what happened to the hockey team. Hockey has traditionally been a glorious sport in India. But let’s all get over this blamegame. Let’s put it behind us,” an animated SRK retorted when asked if he should have invested reasictically into hockey rather than going for cricket. “But hockey will bounce back, it should learn a lesson from the way the Australian cricket has failed on the recent tour. Australia is a great team and they will bounce back, so will Indian hockey,” said Shah Rukh, drawing a parallel between the two cases. “In fact, I am the only actor to play in a film which is about women’s hockey. What more can I do? As if my father played hockey, my father’s father played hockey, and so on,” he remarked, tongue-in-cheek. Shah Rukh had starred as the coach in the blockbuster film about the Indian women’s hockey team that made waves last year.
March 12, 200817 yr Shah Rukh's Mannat : A Digital Fortress SRK’s friends being chased for fingerprints! Like they say, everything comes at a price. And its a high one if you belong to SRK’s inner circle of friends and family. For those of you who think that what can possibly pose as a problem to the people close to the influential King Khan, here it is.. The actor who is standing at the thrust of producing an international film, has become extremely security-conscious. Not wanting to rely on manned security, especially after one of the security personnel posted at his bungalow was arrested for murder, SRK has opted for a hi-tech security system. From what we hear, the actor has installed a biometric security scan at his residence. This means that only those guests who have pre-registered their fingerprints stand to have a smooth clearance through the hi-tech security system of Mannat. And this job has been enthrusted upon the security company. In order to prevent any inconveniency to SRK’s esteemed guests like Karan Johar and Farah Khan, the security company is now constantly chasing them for registering their fingerprints. So while SRK is having a sound sleep after installing a fool-proof system, it is his pals that are being driven crazy at the moment.

March 20, 200817 yr Hrithik Roshan thanks Shah Rukh for item songMumbai - Shah Rukh Khan went out of his way to accommodate Rakesh Roshan and his banner by shooting an item song for their production "Krazzzy 4". And Hrithik Roshan cannot thank him enough."I'm doing the song for my own home production. But Shah Rukh has gone out of his way to accommodate the project because he respects my dad. His gesture has touched all of us. It's very kind of him. He doesn't need to dance."Hrithik can't stop raving about the item song. "It's the best dance track I've ever performed. My uncle Rajesh Roshan has outdone himself. Vishal Dadlani, who has sung the number, has also been extremely gracious. He didn't accept the cheque that my dad gave after the song. He did it for my dad and uncle. As a family, we Roshans are overwhelmed by the respect that has been shown by everyone associated with the item song."Tell him it's because of the respect his father's banner commands; and Hrithik corrects me. "No, I think it's more to do with the kind of person my father is. If he was some one else, Shah Rukh, Vishal and everyone else wouldn't have gone out of their way to accommodate us, no matter how successful we may be. I think my dad has earned the respect he gets. He doesn't command it."Hrithik further says: "Shah Rukh's version of the song will be part of the main movie, while mine will be used at the end of the title; and also on MTV, Channel V and other promotional campaigns for television."With the triumphant "Jodhaa Akbar" behind him, Hrithik is now looking forward to starting his next film with Anurag Basu. "That's one film I'm really looking forward to. I'm a big fan of Anurag's cinema. I think he's a very sensitive director. He is going to do something different with me. I can't say much about the subject, but it will be a different experience for me."The industry was abuzz about Sonam Kapoor starring as Hrithik's leading lady in Anurag's film. "Both Dad and I think Sonam is wonderful. But she was not considered for Anurag's film. The character needs someone from abroad. I'll have an international co-star in Anurag's film."Hrithik and Aishwarya looked pretty international in "Dhoom 2" and "Jodhaa Akbar". "I can't dispute that. It's true. Ash and I share a good rapport. It's always fun to work with a co-star who is not selfish. We gave so much of ourselves to 'Jodhaa Akbar'. Aishwarya has been one of my most helpful co-stars. I really like working with her. She is an incredible actor and an even better co-star. Since all three of us - Abhishek, Aishwarya and I - are friends, we've great fun even when we are not shooting."Hrithik craves for the perfect chemistry with his co-star. "I don't think it's possible for me to give my best if my co-star isn't doing the same. I try to surround myself with like-minded people. I think I've found the right people operating in my frequency to work it, be it Ashutosh Gowariker, Sanjay Gadhvi, Aditya Chopra or my dad. I'm fortunate, I guess."
