This is one of her best campaigns in my opinion. The only thing i do not like is all the people around her, which made it look like the beauty and the beasts...I guess it was impossible to shoot on the streets and have no monsters around...lol...i would have shot the campaign differently, too. It seems what they did was intentional. After all her role was a Hollywood Diva on a walk among fans and it kinda worked. Love all the collages in the ads. Overall one of my favorite campaigns.

@StefanoP57

AhAh I didn't know for the rubber boots, so sexy 🤣

I understand your point of view concerning this campaign but i have another one 🙂

and I am totally in tune with you concerning "angry-looking, never smiling models", I would add that the fashion is often uggly today.

Completely different idea :

i have tried to reproduced this attitude with my 13yo daughter, blond / blue eyes.

it seems easy, nothing special, a head between 2 hands...

We did not succeed, it was always artificial, not aesthetic.

I hope gets a Versace campaign from this! After shamefully not being included in the 90s Supers documentary. Seems Donatella was not into Claudia being un-included. 👏

Shamefully? By the same logic also Yasmeen, Helena, Karen, Tatjana and a few more were shamefully not included...the documentary was perfect the way it is.

Actually, this is not a fair comparison. Of course, Yasmeen, Helena, Karen, Carla, and others were some of the greatest models of the 90's, but you really can't compare these girls to the group that was known as "The Big Five". Cindy, Claudia, Linda, Naomi, and Christy. These girls were in a class of their own. So the story of the 90s Supermodels is simply incomplete without Claudia Schiffer. You can spin it all you want but the truth remains the same. For example, you can Google Claudia's cover for Rolling Stone Magazine, back in May 1990, a magazine that had a strict policy of never featuring a model on its cover, but they've made an exception for Claudia. The magazine later explained their decision by saying: "There are models, There are Supermodels, and then there's Claudia Schiffer." She was the first to appear on this cover and also on Vanity Fair, magazines that weren't about Fashion. She appeared on more than 1,000 magazine covers and holds the record for the model with the most magazine covers, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Plus, She was Lagerfeld's muse for six consecutive years, an accomplishment that no other model had in fashion history, and was so famous internationally that even Diana, Princess of Wales, once said jokingly: "Claudia is the most photographed blonde after me."

You see, originally, the term "The original five" was used to describe Tatjana, Cindy, Naomi, Christy and Linda, due to their joint Vogue cover by Peter Lindberg in January 1990. But that same year, in May 1990, Tatjana was replaced by Claudia Schiffer, and two years later in 1992, Kate Moss joined the group and they became known as "The Big Six". A simple research will reveal the same facts to you as well. Anna Wintour herself confirmed this in an interview for UK ELLE in 2011

That's why this documentary is stirring up a lot of unintentional controversy. Judging from the materials that I have reviewed, and from speaking to fashion insiders, there is a sense that this documentary is falsely portraying these four girls as if they were the only supermodels who dominated the 90s and who reshaped that instrumental decade in fashion history. That's only partially true. The PR machine surrounding this documentary is slowly but confidently creating a very narrow narrative as if the term 'Top Five' never existed. I have included some articles supporting this issue... read and see for yourself. There are millions more historical articles like these... from Vogue, Elle, etc

I totally agree with you, i am a big fan of Claudia, too and she must have been included, too. Maybe she was even asked to be there, but maybe she did not have the time and ability to participate. We all know who all big models were and Claudia is definitely one of the top 10 ever. I do not like comparisons or lists, charts and other silly competitions. They simply made a documentary about 4 of the big top models. I think there is also a political reason behind choosing them only...they come from USA and Canada and the industry always favored models from these countries. That's obvious. And Gisele also made the cover of Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair...more than once.

That's Ture, Gisele also made the cover of Rolling Stone, but I was referring to the model (Claudia) who was the very first to break this record in May 1990. She essentially opened the doors for other models to do the same. I agree with you - and I also don't like charts and lists, but we live in a world where you can't even listen to a song without some magazine ranking it on some hit list. And the facts were and still are today, that the term "The Big Five" does exist and is used to describe these five girls only. We can hate it, (and I do) but unfortunately, it's still a fact that we have to deal with. Perhaps like you said, it was political. I appreciate our discussion.

I agree with you 100%. And luckily i have that Rolling Stone cover with Claudia in my collection and i am very happy with it!

Claudia is an Icon, but so is Linda and Cindy. If Claudia was better on the catwalk, she might have had bigger recognition. But as much as i love her, it is always painful to see her on the runway...out of all big models, she has the worst walk ever...sorry.

That's True! Claudia is not suitable for the runway and she does have an awkward walk. She talked about it very openly. But, let's remember that in some way it is also a testimony of how much Lagerfeld loved her, because she never wanted to be a runway model (she knew she couldn't walk like the other girls) and he pressured her to do her first catwalk for CHANEL in January 1990, and told her: "as far as I'm concerned you can walk as you walk to the supermarket." (you can listen to him say that on Youtube) because Karl always considered her to be more than a model, he thought of her as a personality, as bigger than life. Just like actress Sharon Stone walked the runway for Valentino (horrible walk) but no one expected her to do something else. So in a way, you can claim that Claudia's walk proves how much designers loved her, and invited her to open and close their shows even though they knew they could find better catwalk models. Also, she has such a strong presence that she doesn't really need to try to impress anyone with a killer walk. I've met Claudia many times (I'm a journalist) and accompanied her to many events, and trust me, whenever she enters the room, people lose their breath. That's a quality you're born with, no can can teach you how to do that. I'm attaching some photos from recent years, sorry for the poor quality. I have many more in my album at home.

There can be no denial that she has a presence and one can forgive her anything else that might not be perfect(as her walk, maybe the only imperfection she has). Again, you are totally right. And you are a very, very, very lucky guy to have met her so many times and have selfies with her...i could have never done that, cause i saw her only twice during Paris fashion week and she was surrounded by bodyguards and paparazi, so i could only snap a few images with my camera, which i posted here a few months ago. She is iconic and there is no doubt in it. Her images are wow almost all the time. Her Guess campaign is maybe the best Guess campaign ever! I wish i had started collecting her years ago and not just recently, but i am slowly gathering more and more...maybe in 20 years my collection will be decent😉
