February 1, 201312 yr I think the story of the week: Claudia Schiffer Turned Down an Offer to Have Hermés Name a Bag After Her Who wouldn't want to follow in the ridiculously well-heeled footsteps of style icons Jane Birkin and Grace Kelly, both of whom have Hermés handbags named after them? Claudia Schiffer, apparently. The Telegraph UK dug up this fascinating nugget from an issue of Elle Collections, where supermodels were asked what advice they would give their teenaged selves. Here's Claudia's answer: "In five years time Hermés will ask if they can name a bag after you, as they have Kelly and Birkin. Ignore your agent and say 'Yes.'" The paper wonders, "Was this the work of hawk-eyed agent Michel Levaton who discovered the 17-year-old Schiffer in a Düsseldorf nightclub?" We bet he's kicking himself right about now... "I wonder and hope Hermes is now asking Claudia if the can name a Hermes bag after her.....!"
