"Gelukkig nieuwjaar!" in dutch :)

I haven't seen it posted in German, so I'll put that up too:

"einen guten Rutsch! (ins Neujahr)" or "Frohes Neujahr!"

And making fun of the french, doesn't everyone do that? :whistle: ;)

Oh yeah, back on topic: some other languages as well: :)

AFRIKAANS: gelukkige nuwejaar

ARABIC: aam saiid / sana saiida

CHINESE: xin nian kuai le / xin nian hao

CROATIAN: sretna nova godina

GREEK: kali chronia / kali xronia

eutichismenos o kainourgios chronos (we wish you a happy new year)

INDONESIAN: selamat tahun baru

JAPANESE: akemashite omedetô

There, now go and travel the world ;)

I haven't seen it posted in German, so I'll put that up too:

"einen guten Rutsch! (ins Neujahr)" or "Frohes Neujahr!"

You can also say: "Frohes neues Jahr" or "Ich wuensche/Wir wuenschen einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr"

We either use new (neu) as adjective to describe the year (a new one :laugh:) or we use "Neujahr" as subject, would be like Christmas Eve, I guess. You don't use Eve as an abbreviation in general.
