They treat it like a full time job and the donations are sufficient for them to buy and maintain a house. They quit their conventional careers (eg. IT, prof. chef, etc.) to do this. How Cameron was able to get the financing for this, I don't know.. Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 are currently in post-production and are already filmed! Avatar 2 is to be released in Dec 2022, and Avatar 3 is to be released on Dec 2024. 4 and 5 are supposed to be released on 2026 and 2028!
