Same here. I am still waiting on atleast another Red Wedding moment, and expecting for the finale to surpass my wildest dreams

I liked the purple wedding even better than the Red Wedding.  It was so lavish (even with a small performance) and Joffery is so hatable LOL

Joffery was pure entertainment every time he appeared on screen.

Agree, people couldn't just not notice him

I have a hunch (but non-confirmed, because I never read the books) that the "sweet" ending of the series will have something to do with a united Westeros (the creation of  a nation-state).  The movement from feudalism to nationalism as what has happened in European history.

The massacre of the people in the story would then have some sort of ultimate meaning.

In watching portions of her arc, I pretty much got this sense as well.  Got portugal, you may be right in her not being set up to get the iron throne.

Emila Clarke has this stone-faced smug look throughout the Meereen plot and her speaking is composed of terse, self-righteous pronouncements.

She can get away with it because she has a beautiful face but a guy would be rather punchable.

Daenerys is a robot with three main modes: Queen Mode, Quietly Imperious Mode, and Brooding About Dragons mode. She’s had less development than any of the central protagonists, male or female. Sure, a bunch of stuff has happened to her, but it’s sound and fury, signifying nothing. At the end of the road, she’s a girl who wants to rule out of a sense of entitlement

Then came the Meereen plot in Seasons 4 and 5. At this point, we can no longer ignore the fact that Daenerys is not a good ruler. This is glaringly obvious as we watch her blunder her way through executing the wrong people, piss off all the Meereenese citizens, fail to recognize that imposing her belief systems on another culture doesn’t work. And to cap it off, she fucks off on a dragon and leaves Tyrion to deal with her foreign policy mess. As several fans have already pointed out, Daenerys is the George W. Bush of Westeros and Essos.

That wouldn’t be an issue if the show realized this, but the writers clearly want us to care about her and root for her to take the Iron Throne. After all, if Game of Thrones wasn’t trying to make the case for Daenerys as the rightful queen, then following her plotline — consistently divorced from anything else on the show — would be a gigantic waste of time.

what is the meaning of this?

This is during the end of the Roberts Rebellion. Ned fights some of the best fighters in the world, and he finds his sister at the Tower Of Joy, there he finds out that she has had a baby(check the R+L=J theory) with Rhaegar Targaryen (Danys bro). It is implied that he takes the baby and he takes him as a bastard to shield him from Roberts wrath. Tjat baby is Jon Snow.

I do recommend you to watch the whole series, it helps and it really is a cinematic experience on TV

I like when people give their predictions about how the show will end and try to put Dany and Jon together to rule. I can only assume they have not figured out yet that she is his aunt.

That's not really an issue for the Targaryen though...

(I know their case is completely different to the rest of the House Targaryen, but still)

You are so right, I was not even thinking about that when I posted.

Maybe I was thinking Dany is mostly removed from Targaryen traditions and I was thinking that Jon probably wont think of himself as Targaryen.

Only two shortened seasons left to find out.

Exactly... that's what I meant with their cases being completely different.

Only 2 LONG awaited books for me to find out.

Unfortunately, with Mr Martin's speed in writing books, the second one might not come until 2025 (or longer?).

i would recommend Witcher for you.  It's brilliant, although in some different ways that GOT.

Yeah, something like that... I just hope at least for The Winds Of Winter to see the light this year. But not too many hopes.

I think this is the year (3rd time already that I say this so my word is shit on this)

It's been exactly the same for me

When I started reading A Dance With Dragons (this was in 2013) I was told the next book was expected to come out the next year. And here we are... :dead_horse:

I think Euron will align himself with the Lannisters as the "master of the ships" (since master of the ships Mace Tyrell is gone and Yara has connected with Dragon girl).
