November 30, 200717 yr On the subject of accents, KK doesn't get nearly enough credit for the quality of her English, imho.

November 30, 200717 yr ^ Whenever somone mentioned "Guantanamo Bay," I thought of the prison -- I didn't know it was a naval base -- and not that it's in Cuba, a country we're not exactly, um... friendly with. I mean, it seems kind of counterintuitive that we can have a naval base in Cuba and yet we can place an embargo on the country, too.
November 30, 200717 yr Well, Fidel isn't exactly pleased with the presence of a US base on his territory, but there is little he can do about it, because the agreements far precede his emergence.
November 30, 200717 yr It's a holdover from the Spanish-American War.Here's the link. Basically we got it in return for helping the Cubans win their independence from Spain. It wasn't an entirely unselfish act, as through the course of the war the United States ended up taking several of Spain's colonies, such as the Philippines, Puerto Rico, and Guam.

November 30, 200717 yr ^ LOL...HAHAHAH... I am glad someone has a sense of humor here I am sure azkid or someone will cap it
November 30, 200717 yr Listening to Adriana and Alessandra talk is so annoying. I'm so glad they have girls like Marisa and Miranda and even Karolina who can speak properly and don't have annoying accents!
December 1, 200717 yr Hello! I've always been a fan of Marissa, but only recently did I learn her name, and now she is one of my absolute favorite models! She has the perfect body! I've always believed that models should be voluptuous like her, not stick thin, with no breasts. Go Marissa! You're the epitome of what a model should look like! Keep it up, girl!
December 1, 200717 yr Accent wise if you aren't paying really close attention, mine is "Generic American." I lack a distinct regional accent because my family moved around so much. Did pick up some local colloquialisms that people could pick up on, though. I could be anywhere in America or Canada and my accent wouldn't really "stand out" too much.I have to go abroad!
