donbot Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 New Kimbra And finally some new Feist Quote
Michael* Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 ^Like the sound of both, especially Kimbra. Lovely vid too. Too much cool for one stage - The Strokes and Jarvis Cocker cover The Cars' 'Just What I Needed' at the Reading + Leeds fest. Quote
donbot Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 ^Awesome (Y) I had my hand kissed by Jarvis at a festival just last month Quote
MattLoveModels Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 new Girls album. Need to get my hands on that Quote
donbot Posted September 1, 2011 Author Posted September 1, 2011 Jack White + Insane Clown Posse + Mozart = :| :| :| Quote
Michael* Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 ^Can't say I saw that particular collaboration coming. New tune from Howling Bells. Something of a return to form, I think. Quote
donbot Posted September 7, 2011 Author Posted September 7, 2011 ^Can't say I saw that particular collaboration coming. I reckon. Jack White is still the man, but I dunno what he was on when he agreed to do that Love the Howling Bells And congrats to PJ Harvey for taking out the Mercury Music prize Quote
Michael* Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 And congrats to PJ Harvey for taking out the Mercury Music prize Congrats indeed. I will admit to pulling for Anna Calvi but 'Let England Shake' is a stunning album. Quote
Michael* Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Two new favourites... Think Vampire Weekend gone avant garde, with bizarre lyrics and dance moves to match. And a newly formed and rather magnificent all-girl band from London (via Brighton). Quote
Michael* Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Lovely new Anna Calvi vid... :wub2: Quote
donbot Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 ^ Love the Novella track too. Not so convinced by the Zun Zun Egui though <_< The Flaming Lips release six hour songThe Flaming Lips have released a six hour long song titled I Found This Star On The Ground. The marathon tune is accompanied by another two new (much shorter) songs as well as a light and audio phase illusions toy called the Strobo Trip. This follows on from other peculiar release methods from the Oklahoma natives. Earlier in the year front man Wayne Coyne hand delivered new songs on USB sticks lodged in gummy skulls to a record store in his home city. The full package has only been made available to buy at a record store in Portland, Oregon, however you can stream I Found This Star On The Ground in its entirety below. It's been divided into three two hour sections. Streaming here: Part 1 - http://bit.ly/oVxTpd Part 2 - http://bit.ly/nAhXxM Part 3 - http://bit.ly/pTycYN Quote
Michael* Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Love the Novella track too. Not so convinced by the Zun Zun Egui though <_< I really like them but with such a scattershot sound and lyrics about sexy worms, they can hardly expect to be everyone's cup of tea. Quote
MattLoveModels Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Obsessed with the new Girls album Father, Son, Holy Ghost. It's pretty much perfection. Pop done right. Quote
Michael* Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Obsessed with the new Girls album Father, Son, Holy Ghost. It's pretty much perfection. Pop done right. I will admit to finding couple of the tracks on 'FSHG' a touch excessive but when they get it right, wow, they're absolutely stunning. 'Alex' is about as close to heaven-sent as it's possible to get. donbot Posted September 29, 2011 Author Posted September 29, 2011 Another amazing new Florence + The Machine track Quote
Michael* Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 ^I think I like 'WTWGM' a little bit better than this one. Perfect choice for a first single though, and I can't enough of those tribal-sounding drums. Quote
donbot Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Feist's new album is out in a few days. You can stream it here now though (requires email registration): http://www.listentofeist.com/metals/ Quote
Michael* Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Also.. Very good stuff. When I heard it, I figured a Jack White collaboration would be inevitable, but a quick Googling suggests that it's already happened. Trying to quickly redeem himself after the Insane Clown Posse debacle, no doubt. Quote
