Michael* Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Biography Patricia Rooney Mara (born 1985) is an American actress, who will portray Lisbeth Salander, the title character in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first of three Sony Pictures films based on Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy book series. Her past films include The Social Network, a 2010 film by David Fincher about the founding of Facebook, as well as other 2010 films including Youth in Revolt, The Winning Season, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, a remake of the 1984 horror film. Her films in 2009 include Dare and Tanner Hall. Mara oversees the charity Faces of Kibera, which benefits orphans from the Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya, one of the largest slums in Africa. She is the younger sister of actress Kate Mara.
