Nicki was not talking about Taylor herself, she was talking about racism in the media. Taylor's ego is out of control and she has a permanent victim complex, so she read it as a personal attack. She completely missed Nicki's point and showed once again that the only kind of "feminism" she supports is the kind that benefits her. But what can you expect from someone who was educated about it by Lena Dunham.

Anyway, I'd love to see either Katy or Nicki perform but unless one/both drops a new single soon it won't happen.

Nicki is just stating that black women don't get rewarded enough and was hoping Taylor would support it instead of making it about her. But I'm definitely hoping Nicki or even Katy/Beyonce to perform at year's VSFS. It would be VERY refreshing.

I did prefer Nicki's VS performance to Taylor's. Except when she ruined Erin's runway moment. I might never forgive her for that.

DEAD

Girl you're so spot on. Taylor can suck it, she thinks of herself as the Holy Authority of Feminism and Morality when in reality she's just another bb and is always trashing everyone who says the smallest thing that won't benefit her or could potentially damage her image as pretty much being fucking perfect, she loves to play the victim and it's sad how the media totally played Taylor's game and made Nicki look like the bad one when she does have a point.

I don't want to see Katy perform tho because dat voice just NOPE o.o, Nicki + Beyonce would be much better

Now back to VS, they should start shooting tomorrow so I'm already in paparazzi pictures watch, I'll be getting Elsa's pictures for my fansite and probably some of the other girls too and post them if/when I can.

Nicki is just stating that black women don't get rewarded enough

Then why didn't she say that in the first place? Her comment was about very slim women, not white women, or white people. She just changed her tack when Taylor called her up on it to make Taylor look bad.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not Taylor's number one fan or anything, but I think she was absolutely spot on and Nicki's just back peddling now and playing the race card to get people's support.

I really doubt they're going to let Nicki "Fuck those skinny bitches" Minaj perform on a show full of them. :nicole:

Katy Perry would be cool though although she hasn't released anything new so I don't think it's gonna happen.

If they want to go big for their 20th anniversary, they should get Beyonce and only Beyonce.

Beyoncé might be a bit too much for it though. She's all about owning the stage and commanding everyone's attention and VS still want to the focus to be on the models.

She was making valid points about the history of racism in the music industry, taylor should be standing by her not making it about her

She was making valid points about the history of racism in the music industry, taylor should've been standing by her and not making it about her, and everyone was just twisting Nicki's words up. It's just sad stuff. Never been a fan of Taylor either.

Beyonce can't possibly be as bad as Taylor was last year especially since Bee doesn't have any Angel BFFs. Less cringeworthy moments for sure.

If they can't get Bey, then get Rihanna. She was perfect. She did her thing and wasn't distracting.

Bey wouldn't do it deliberately like Taylor did, but she wouldn't have to, she's just naturally got more presence.

Rihanna did get it just right, she interacted with the models but didn't try and steal the spotlight too much. Although the song choice for the floral segment was a bit mismatched.

What about Selena? Her song Good For You could work for one of the slower segments, and there's no chance of her overshadowing the girls!

Good For You would be perfect for a mainline segment but I'm afraid Selena might get stuck in PINK due to her age. The Weeknd would be awesome but his stufff might be too PG for VS, but his new album might be less explicit so he has a chance.

As long as Miley "Licking Hammers" Cyrus and Taylor "I'm a Feminist, you can't criticize me" Swift aren't in the show, I'm good.

"When Britney Spears got naked for Toxic, she was nominated for Best Music Video. When Emily Ratajkowski got naked next to Robin Thicke in Blurred Lines, he was nominated for Best Music Video. When Miley Cyrus stripped off and broke a million health and safety rules by riding a piece of construction equipment, she was nominated (and WON) for Best Music Video of the Year. All of the above videos have been controversial, but they were acknowledged by the industry for their impact nevertheless.

But as soon as Nicki Minaj - whose black body deviates from Caucasian beauty standards - dares to own her own culture and dance in similarly provocative fashion, it's glossed over and relegated to sideline categories of 'female' and 'hip hop'."

I love what this article said about the whole thing.

Back on topic, I would love to see Rihanna again. She totally rocked it in 2012! Beyoncé would be a dream but she would totally steal the attention.

VS should focus on getting one big performer. And they can do that with Beyonce. But then also focus on the models. I think they need to go back to the basics a little being their 20th anniversary. But how many times has that been said and it never happens. So it won't. Expect the same shit as last year. Performers in every runway.

^ Dat article speaks the truth (Y) And Selena needs to never perform for VS ... or anyone, whoever told her she has some kind of singing talent was laying :ninja:

If I had to choose people and songs to perform I'd go with

Beyoncé - Partition

Nicki + Beyoncé - Felling Myself/Flawless

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQjTl8Zmy2s

Nicki - The Night Is Still Young

The Weeknd - Earned It

And for PINK I would have Fifth Harmony - Worth It

Selena could definitely be a good choice or even The Weeknd with a few good new hits he has, Bruno Mars with Uptown Funk, maybe?? I wouldn't mind seeing him again.

But would Nicki's video merit a nomination? Really? It's just a bunch of girls shaking their asses, from start to finish. And the fact that Beyoncé- a black woman with tits and ass- is also nominated makes Nicki's 'oh, I wasn't really talking about skinny women I was talking about racism' BS moot anyway.
