PrettyDeadThings Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 I'm not a Bible thumper at all, but this is just too much, the level of disrespect to Christians is nauseating. The Olympic Ceremony is supposed to be showing your country in a good light - showing what your country has to offer. If this is what France has to offer then they are in serious trouble. Quote

I'm already confused. 🤣 Robert Downey Jr. to Star as Dr. Doom in Marvel's ‘Avengers: Doomsday' Marvel Studios returned to Hall H this year at CinemaCon and confirmed a rumor that Jeff Sneider had been dabbling with for a few weeks now … The movie formerly known as “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” is now titled “Avengers: Doomsday.” Furthermore, Robert Downey Jr. is returning to the MCU and will play Doctor Doom, a Fantastic Four Villain. The crowd went batsh*t wild when Downey Jr. was revealed onstage. So, it looks as though Marvel head Kevin Feige scrapped his Kang plans, due to Jonathan Majors’ legal issues, and rewrote the entire ‘Avengers 5’ story from scratch. Doctor Doom is now the new villain. The new ‘Avengers’ writer, replacing the recently exited Michael Waldron, and original scribe Jeff Loveness, will be Stephen McFeely who co-wrote ‘Endgame’ and ‘Infinity War.’ The film is supposed to begin production in March 2025 and run until August — that’s six months of shooting. The Russo Brothers have also been confirmed to return to direct “Avengers: Doomsday,” with Downey Jr. spearheading a cast of characters that will likely include the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and others. The film will be in theaters May 1st, 2026. The Russos will also be helming “Avengers: Secret Wars,” due out in 2027. Now, you must be wondering, didn’t Downey Jr’s Tony Stark die at the end of “Avengers: Endgame”? Well, you underestimate Marvel head Kevin Feige’s current desperation. Based on what was said at CinemaCon, Downey Jr would be playing a character that bears no relation whatsoever to Stark. He’s just Victor Von Doom and he’s part of the retro/future world of Marvel’s upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Desperate stunt casting or master play on the part of Feige? Who bloody hell knows. So, just to recap. Marvel lost Jonathan Majors and decided, to hell with it, let’s bring Robert Downey Jr. back, and rewrite the entirety of Avengers 5&6 that we centered around Kang. I’m reminded of that scene in “Deadpool & Wolverine” where Ryan Reynolds tells Hugh Jackman “You're going to be doing this until you're 90.” He wasn’t kidding. Quote

I bet it's an ego booster more than anything else. I could literally see him grow during the massive crowd celebrating on that panel 😅 But if it's make him happy as a person and actor I guess it's fine. He struggled enough in this life. Quote

Jade Bahr Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 I think this is even worse than Marvel 🤣 What a freakin waste of time @Lilja K (...) Raquel Welch starred in the 1966 original sci-fi adventure which had a scientist discovering technology that can miniaturize matter by shrinking humans. Cameron has been attached to this project since the late 90s, and, in 2016, hired Guillermo del Toro to direct. Cameron did get as far as writing a screenplay, but after completing “Titanic,” his mind began to concentrate on “Avatar.” Del Toro still hasn’t given up on it — he reaffirmed his interest three years ago. Last year, he had mentioned that his next two films, after “Dr. Frankenstein,” which is currently in production, would be the animated ‘Buried Giant’, and an unnamed live-action effort. Maybe the latter was “Fantastic Voyage”? Meanwhile, Cameron will likely not be directing ‘Fantastic Voyage’ — he’s knee deep in ‘Avatar’. In a new interview with Le Figaro, Cameron says he’s not quitting Avatar. He plans to “continue working on the franchise until 2031.” Quote

PrettyDeadThings Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 Dear Summer, I must be honest with you – I simply cannot stand you, as you know already, but I still cannot seem to stress my hatred enough of you to feel better about the situation. Your relentless heat, the constant hum of air conditioners all around me giving me a migraine, and the oppressive humidity that leaves me feeling damp within minutes of stepping outside are all unbearable. I find no joy in sitting under your scorching sun like so many others. I enjoy being as pale as I am. Even during my time in Northern California, I sought refuge at the beach only on dreary, overcast days, avoiding your harsh rays as much as I could. I would love to go to New Orleans sooner, but stepping outside Anna's home at 2am in August is akin to going to hell, so fuck you for that. Your presence is overwhelming, and I long for the day you finally depart for the next 6 months. My heart yearns for Autumn, with its cool, crisp days and the vibrant transformation of leaves into brilliant hues of gold, orange, red, and even pink. I eagerly anticipate the season of pumpkins, Halloween, horror movies, and the comforting embrace of a gentle breeze at night as my friends and I walk among the moonlight. Sincerely, the person who would move to Alaska in a New York Second, or even Maine if I could convince my husband it was for the best. I would move to Edinburgh, however UK is turning itself into a supersized shitshow ... no one sane wants that. Soon... Quote
Matt! Posted August 1, 2024 Posted August 1, 2024 This is so f* unfair. You train all your life just to fight a dude. Infuriating. Quote
