Hilary handily won in my region which is expected (Democrats always win here).

 

Well, the thing is I thought he would be crushed from 1. Losing the black, hispanic, and asian vote (25%) of the population 2. Losing white women.  3. Losing independents/swing voters- the hidden factor  4.  Financial markets futures.

 

I was wrong on #3. 95% of my social network hates Trump.  Also the media was bullish on Hilary which inevitably influenced my opinion.

I don't expect this to set into motion the Apocalypse, but it's equally naive to believe this won't have a rather big impact internationally, if he carries out even a portion of his campaign promises. This isn't reserved just to Trump BTW, had Clinton won we would have seen some changes too, though likely less dramatic. e.g. the Iran deal was probably going to end up in the waste bin regardless of whether the US elected Trump or Clinton.

He could have easily lost. Some of the races were very tight. Clinton's problem seems to be that people weren't really very enthusiastic enough to come out and vote for her. This was the lowest turn-out since 2000.

Hillary looks set to win the popular vote and could have won this thing if not for a handful of very close Trump wins in swing states.

A woman other than Clinton (one who does not come with all the pre-existing baggage) can definitely win a presidential election.
