Well, 22 votes at last...

And 2 of the main favorites are out... I can't believe Josie and Emily are already kicked out.

I remind you that in case of a draw the one who did not receive the last vote wins.

Time for the South Americans, there are 32 too, 30 will fight for 6 places in the groups in 4 preliminary rounds, and 2 are there already waiting as the group seeds.

One of them is Adriana Lima because she was in the final last time, she was actually the winner.

SOUTH AMERICA, FIRST PRELIMINARY ROUND:

1 Lais Navarro vs Michelle Alves

2 Karen Carreno vs Raquel Zimmermann

3 Caroline Trentini vs Ana Claudia Michels

4 Valeria Mazza vs Gracie Carvalho

5 Fabiana Semprebom vs Yamila Diaz

6 Daniela Freitas vs Thais Oliveira

DEADLINE: Sunday 25th April at 22:00 CET (Paris time), 16:00 EDT (New York time), with a minimum of 20 votes.

Emily and Josie are out!? What a suprise!

Theron, I'm sure it's in the rules of your contest, but could you tell me why they were actually eliminated since there was a draw 11-11? Who wins in that case?

o.O the last person to vote making it a draw voted FOR Emily and Josie... meaning Chrisy & Cindy are out. wtf am I missing? Also Jarah Mariano would be in as well over Megan (Y)

You have it in the 3rd line in the message with the results, in case of a draw the one who did not receive the last vote wins.

It's a tiebreaker backwards instead of asking for a new vote, so this way we can go on quickly, and maybe if I asked for 1 more vote then another draw in another pairing could happen again and we'd never end.

And another reason is because when you ask for one more vote, some people tend to cheat asking anyone by PM to vote for her favorite, I have seen it in other forums.

BTW, the only time that rule doesn't apply is in the Group Stage, a draw gives 1 point each, no matter who received the last vote.

Wow, just wow

If it didn't count then wtf did you put the rule up in the first place? Kinda contradictory now isn't it :ninja:

Either way don't care, this is not going to be the thing that annoys me today.

No, it's the other way around.

The one who did not receive the last vote wins, that means the one who received the last vote loses, or the last vote does not count.

That's why it is important to vote quickly, or at least not to be the last one, cause if there are any draws your vote could be useless.

It's a pity to me too Josie's out that way, the worst possible way, but it's been always like that since we started the first contest, this time the rule is detrimental but it can benefit her another day.

Oh, sorry, I've missed it. I was too shocked by the results :p Thanks for explanation.

Mmmm... this rule has appeared dozens of times so far, and it's always been written in the very first message of this thread, last line.

I searched and even Josie Maran did benefit from it once, she beat Veronika Varekova in a 17-17 draw.

Other examples:

Noemie Lenoir, Daniella Sarahyba, Karolina Kurkova and Daria Werbowy they all won in a 15-15 draw the same day.

Adriana Lima beat Alessandra Ambrosio in another 15-15 draw in the quarterfinals of the 1st edition.

Selita Ebanks, one of my favorites, was kicked out by Catherine McNeil in a 13-13 draw in a preliminary round in the 3rd edition.

If it was the other way around, the last vote wins, I would be encouraging people to be the last one to vote and it would be a mess, many people would probably leave their vote for later and they would finally miss it many days, and the participation would decrease. So I have to set up a rule that encourages people to vote as quick as possible.
