Stormbringer
No leftovers It wasn't big though. Somewhat smaller than a medium one. But I had it with a box of breadsticks (And I don't really like cold pizza )

*Bronx_Bomber*
This is the best thread here ! :-D I had this amazing salad last week : Sauteed shrimp and avocado with balsamic vinegar glaze
Stormbringer
^ It's a great thread indeed! And that salad looks amazing! ----------- Today's lunch: This is a churrasco. We call churrasco here a sandwich made with sliced meat. This one also had tomatoes, avocado, mayonnaise, green sauce, and another sauce called americana. Cult Icon
I love tempura and the way they fry things. I personally like it best with shrimp, potatoe-flour balls, and lobster tail. I only wished that western places would learn from them and adopt their way of deep-frying as an alternative to conventional breading. Unlike western methods of breading, the Japanese way works with a wide array of sauces as a dip. I helped make tempura two times. It was fairly quick but we had our own frier. I love me some sushi :=) Is the green sauce guacamole? Looks good! --------------------------------------- I recently discovered a Chinese take-out place near by. Whenever I discover a new Chinese take out place with a highly cliched' menu, I always fall back to 2 options first: 1. Try their General Tso's chicken. 2. Try their BBQ spare ribs. Unlike ducks and lobsters, these are hard to screw up.. I tried their General Tso's Chicken with pork fried rice. The first quarter of the meal was good but the rest of it was way too sweet. I think they confused my meal with sesame chicken, as the cook seemed have made a 'blend' of the two recipes. Tomorrow I will try BBQ spare ribs........wish me luck..LOL! My dinner today was fish balls, radish, seaweed, pork dumpling, and pork bone soup. The radishes and pork bones took about an hour to soften. It was an 'okay' meal. Supposedly healthy. I ordered a filipino mango cake (20 inches) for a birthday party. It was a simple cake but well done. Like other filipino cakes I've had (they make good Mocha cake), this cake is not as sweet as American types. There was only one layer of mango filling but the cake part was made just hours before and done well. The cream was of good quality and of melt-in-your mouth constitution. With filipino cakes, they are light on sugar for one to wolf down slices about 50% larger than typically. ------------------- A bit of a fun question for you guys. What do you like to order for Chinese take-out and why?
Stormbringer
Is the green sauce guacamole? Looks good! The green thing you see there is smashed avocado. The green sauce is not that visible. That one is made of onion and parsley.

Cult Icon
The Funny thing is I am just back in diet mode...I gained 3 pounds this year and last week I quit eating bread on a regular basis. I replace it with watery oatmeal. No more cookies, pastries, and cake. Holidays, meetings, and parties will go just the same, though. Had a Chinese dinner: As I promised, BBQ Spare ribs (above average!), white rice, egg drop soup with mushroom and corn, and rich chinese almond cookies. My favorite holiday and party cookies- I bought some from the bakery recently: Butter, Gingerbread, caramelized crisps. I prefer having cookies that are light on sugar and heavier on butter content.
