July 1, 20241 yr I cried a lot. If you want to watch a real life human hero watch this doc. Outstanding fighting inspiring sweet empathetic powerhouse of a woman. Love her
July 7, 20241 yr Another strong perfomance of Lily @Lilja K @akatosh Her movie baby niece Isabel Deroy-Olson is gorgeous 😍

July 13, 20241 yr The weakest of the trilogy (also the least scary), but still great. Loved the cast (especially Mia Goth, Elizabeth Debicki and Giancarlo Esposito) and the setting (80s LA, Hollywood movie production and mass murders committed by religious fanatics). I enjoyed it a lot💯 @Jade Bahr Mia Goth
July 14, 20241 yr @Lilja K I also think THE QUIET PLACE DAY 1 was the "weakest" of all 3 parts but more in connection with the 2 other movies than as a stand alone piece. It lacked a bit of new ideas when it comes to the horror/alien elements aka it didn't really do anything for the other 2 movies or the universum it's set in imo. It's still very much worth the watch. I loved Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong’o together They're dynamic is really sweet, heartbreaking and sometimes even funny. This picture explained pretty much everything. Love them This dude is also my hero 🥰 What I liked most about the movie that despite it's placed in this huge city NYC it's actually a very intimate journey of two strangers meeting in a horrible life threating event building such a strong life affirming bond. And there is Frodo (the cat) the little matchmaker 💘
July 14, 20241 yr I wondered if it's been such a massive hit without set in the QUIET PLACE universe. Ironically that part is actually the weakest thing of the movie.
July 15, 20241 yr One of my faves of Blake @Lilja K She's so gorgeous, cool, effortless and tre chic in this movie I love it Kinda curious about part 2 😚

July 16, 20241 yr I'm still on my Star Wars in "chronological order" watch mission (but I already cheated 😄) However I like this one A LOT.... (it was just fun and damn Alden Ehrenreich is handsome 😍 overall great cast) same for this one (Mads Mikkelsen is breaking me... in a freakin Star Wars movie... 😭 genius actor, overall a brilliant cast again) but how is this movie a classic????????????????????????????? @Lilja K @Cult Icon It's hilariously bad. Clunky dialogs, TERRIBLE stiff acting from every single cast member, everyone looks and moves so weirdly confused like they had no clue what the hell they're actually doing. I mean I'm aware this movie was made in the 70s (different time, different possibilities, even though technically the movie looks just fine to me for past standards) but everything else was just painful to watch (kids who are threatened with beatings if they don't obey, women with barely any dialogue standing to cook in the kitchen, the "hero" constantly mocking Leia for her "dumb female" lead), I'm still amazed I made it somehow through the whole mess 🤣 And the Star Wars fanboys mourning the times when this franchise was... less female driven but bullying a little boy for years for not just "ruining" the Anakin character but the beloved universe when every failure on this once again comes to sloppy writing and directing from George Lucas? This fandom deserves every single woke movement ever made imo Sorry Jake for a ruined childhood.

I was entertained, everything else was unimportant😂

July 17, 20241 yr @Lilja K slightly better than A NEW HOPE. Harrison Ford is still terrible. Always shouting and pointing with his finger on people (literally). His character is just awful and annoying. He's still constantly mocking Leia allegedly having "feelings for him" she's not "admitting" because she's afraid for "having a real bad man in her life". I was like what is this dude talking about!!??? He's constantly entering her personal space, touching her when she's clearly telling him she didn't want him to do, his flirting is TERRIBLY intrusive and if that isn't all enough already his "best friend" is also constantly hitting on her. I would have scream if I was her, really. It's one of the worst "iconic" love stories I ever witnessed in my movie life. I'm kinda shocked how people can mock movies like 365 DAYS, 50 Shades of Grey and Twilight but thinking this one is any better 😨 I also was highly irritated by Mark Hamills face and thought for a moment they changed the actor. Then I learned he was in a serious car accident and had some facial recoveries and reconstructions. He was really hot in this scene though. Those 2 are the best 😄

In some old movies, "toxic" love stories are presented as the norm. Also, in the entire series, the subtleties of human relations are not given importance. Striking picture, badass heroes, this is a mass movie. And now nostalgic feelings prevent people from looking at flaws. I understand.
July 17, 20241 yr @Lilja K it's still the whole father/son dynamic + parallels that made the whole franchise for me. Love everything about this storyline It's really well made and like the glue of everything past, present and future.
July 18, 20241 yr I came to the conclusion the OG Star Wars trilogy wasn't made for me @Lilja K Still glad I watched them for the overall picture of the franchise.
