December 11, 201113 yr So...Seems like the stupid "The Artist" is winning all the freakings awards as Best Picture. How stupid would be think that the hands and the money of Harvey Weinstein have something to do with this??? They are even pulling out Leonardo of the prediction's list to include the guy from The Artist WHAT?????????????? I'm pissed off By Princess You know I only kid you as you are my fellow beyotch Don't try to be condescending with me now... Wait for fash log in, between me and her will kick your ass
December 11, 201113 yr By Princess As to Oscar predictions Weinstein's "The Artist" and its lead actor Jean Dujardin has been on everyone's 5 BA pick from day one. This weekend Deadline Hollywood had a Contenders Forum Below is the question they asked and the CEO of Warners ( the studio behind J Edgar) reply DEADLINE: “Can an aggressive Oscar” campaign hurt?”JEFF ROBINOV, PRESIDENT OF WARNER BROS: “I’d say Mr. Weinstein proves him wrong every year.”If you watch the various Oscar blogs for most of the award season so far the 5 pick has been : Clooney, Pitt, Dujardin, DiCaprio, Fassenbender. However, some in recent weeks have replaced Leo with Gary Oldman. So the real question come Tues will be will BFCA/SAG go with Leo or Oldman ???As with Fassenbender winning LA BA and runnerup for some other critic awards , then I would say he will be a definite for BFCA nod .
December 11, 201113 yr You're right... Oldman is the one who always was left out as an option and Now I'm reading and says Clooney, Pitt, Dujardin, Oldman, Fassenbender. What? Dicaprio is the other Option??????... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

December 11, 201113 yr So Fassbender won the LA award.... is it the same scenario as the NY award where they didn't list any other contenders?Man I was waiting for this day ... I hate this only naming the winner deal!
December 11, 201113 yr Though...Old scans from 2020 old pics from 2020 huh.... are you from the future Princess. Is that something your hiding?? I must be drunk or something besides if I were the princess from the future I already knew if Leo won the Oscar or not. and I wouldn't have to read stupid list of predictions that only makes me angry

December 11, 201113 yr By Princess Yes, exactly, for a long while it was the same foursome : Clooney, Pitt, Dujardin, DiCaprio with Fassenbender or Oldman being the possible 5th slot. Now, with the recent critic wins or runner up for Fassenbender , Pitt won NYC, Clooney NBR, and all the critical love for The Artist, you can figure the same group of critics (BFCA) would have the list as for sure : Clooney, Pitt, Dujardin, Fassenbender So the question becomes who is the 5th ; will it be Oldman or Leo ? As I mentioned to Fash the other day in a pm discussion, I think we can predict safely that Oldman will be given the BAFTA BA award = he's a British actor in a British film , so why not let the British honor Oldman , and allow an American actor with a terrific performance be acknowledged by American film groups ??? Fash While today's critic groups didn't name a top five group, I noticed that the LA Critics did name Michael Shannon as a runnerup , the Boston awarded Pitt naming Clooney & Fassenbender as runnerups . And what is this , I'm now on a short leash ??? I shall make note of that in my little black book I keep the next time someone whispers things in my ear Ox your on a short leash now you hear???
December 11, 201113 yr lollll I'm going to be so pissed if Leo gets shut out of all the awards this season!
December 11, 201113 yr I need to say I'm so worried with respect to these nominations girls.I'm ready for anything. I know we cant expect anything, but I'm so waiting to see Leo get his Oscar... I'm in love with Gatsby girls...I want that impassioned look to me!! Oxford...tks for those scans....Oh my...I'm in love with Gatsby!!!
December 12, 201113 yr oh my this awards nominations will start to appear tomorrow and I'am already worried... I know I said I was trying to calm down, but as closer we get to the award season the more I became not angry but sad with all this, and I think we can say with this kind of game. What piss off is that Leo started as the most favorite and now he's just fading away and as always seems to happen with Leo, someone who made a "better job" in the opinion of this critics/voters/ or campaigns made for "very smart people" (in the worst sense for me), I know this make part of the whole thing but for me it seems dirty. All Leo campaign is just based in his acting or maybe a poster of "for your consideration", it's just not fair. I'am really becoming disappointed, it seems it's never Leo's time, not for this people in industry.

I'am really becoming disappointed, it seems it's never Leo's time, not for this people in industry. Yeah Barbie...I do think the same! What else is missing for Leo to get his Oscar? Sometimes I cant understand what they believe to be a real good performance! It's not possible they are not able to see Leo's talent and they are not able to recognize this! Who's better than him in this season? Brad Pitt?Ryan Gosling?George Clooney?Dujardin? Come on,gimme a break!Leo is the best thing in Hollywood nowadays, everybody knows that but no one wants to say that! When they want to recognize it? When Leo's old?
December 12, 201113 yr Kat In response to your comment below which I think I can safely say is a sentiment we ALL share : I'm going to be so pissed if Leo gets shut out of all the awards this season As I mentioned long ago in a discussion with Barbie I felt a BA nod /win should be about one thing = performance, but , once I stated following the Oscar game I realized that was not the case . That other factors came into play: 1.That the voters liked to match a BA nod with a BP nod , so , they, give preference to actors who were leads in the BP contender films. Thus the reason Oscar bloggers have been saying that Leo's chances were hurt by the fact that J Edgar would not be BP contender , whereas, Descendants, Moneyball, The Artist will be, so that automatically helped their lead actors : Clooney, Pitt, and Dujardin. If you recall the year that Leo got double nods for TD/BD that TD went on to win BP , so he was associated with a BP contender film. 2.That the voters like to 'press the flesh' with contenders, thus it was important to try to attend as many parties as possible. The mindset of get your smiling /charming face in their face. As we know it is hard for Leo to be doing that when he is filming in Sydney. Just as sexy Danny Archer could use his charm to turn heads, that is true of voters. If they have just spent an evening being 'charmed' by you , they are more likely to vote for you. 3.That it matters who is campaigning for you, like or dislike Harvey Weinstein's award campaigning tactics he gets results, do remember that Kate Winslet had many nods but no wins to she was backed by Harvey. This year he is backing "The Artist"/Dujardin , as well as, Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams. I will give By Princess $100 if any of these don't get a nod. :p 4. When they wish to they throw in the 'age' factor. Gary Oldman has never had an Oscar nod. He is 53. Leo is 37 and has had 3 Oscar nods. So, let's give the edge to Oldman due to his age/never being nominated. So, should a BA nod be strictly for excellence in performance regardless of age, looks, how many parties you go to , who is backing you , whether your film is a BP contender or not ? Yes, I believe it should be, but ,sadly, that is not how those who have the power to vote view it :(
December 12, 201113 yr oh ox, now you make me even more sad, but thanks for the explanation. You are helping me a lot in my knowledge about all this and honestly the more I know less I like this. But still thank you so much. But ox can you please repeat one more time the dates and the name of all this awards? I know starts tomorrow but I don't exactly remember what award is?
