Thanks for great pix of Samantha Harris and dashingly handsome Leo :)

I certainly shall look forward to that interview .

Also, love the gif you posted from the red carpet ; I love the hand motion as he talks .

I thought you might enjoy the comment I read today from a longtime Oscar board poster in response to the comment that appeared in the excerpt

The comment

Clooney arguably is the best he's ever been in "The Descendants

The poster's response to that often repeated comment about Clooney's performance :p :p

Oh, and telling me that Clooney gives the performance of his career isn't saying a whole lot, considering that he isn't that strong of an actor to begin with.

LiLo crashes Leo's big party

Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan crashed the party for Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie “J. Edgar” and made such a scene she made A-list attendees “uncomfortable.”

Lohan, fresh from her Playboy shoot and about to go to jail for probation violations, insisted she was an invited guest to the party for the Clint Eastwood-directed biopic about legendary FBI director Hoover, and talked her way past security at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Thursday night.

A source at the bash told us, “Lindsay was arguing with the security to let her in, dropping every celebrity’s name to get in. She could be heard saying, ‘I have to go and see Leo.’

“Eventually they let her in, but she made everybody uncomfortable. She was aggressive and random, storming around. She tried to get to Leo, but he was surrounded by his security and a posse of his friends.

“Clint and Leo and Dustin Lance Black were talking, and Lindsay sent one of her aides over, demanding to get a photo with them, but security shooed them away.”

Another spy at the party, attended by Ron Howard, Harvey Weinstein, Brett Ratner and actress/producer Christie Cashman, said Lohan kept asking to meet Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer, who’d already left.

The movie, generating considerable Oscar buzz for DiCaprio, opened the AFI Fest at Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It wasn’t clear how Lohan managed to get past AFI security, which sealed off the whole block and would only allow their official limos in.

Lohan has to turn herself in to jail by Wednesday to serve a 30-day sentence. But this didn’t stop her from turning up at the Hollywood Roosevelt with her hair and makeup still done up from her earlier Playboy shoot.

Lohan’s rep said, “She did not crash, she was invited by a guest who attended the event. I am not aware of her asking for photos with Leo or Clint. She was never asked to leave.” Reps for DiCaprio and Grazer declined to comment.

Some Twitter feedback from last night's J Edgar screening and Q&A

The tweets below are from Hollywood Reporter writer

THRMattBelloniMatthew Belloni

Leo says at QnA it took 5-6 hrs a day to put on J Edgar makeup.

At NYTimes J Edgar QnA, Leo says he wanted to play Hoover bc he's a "crock pot of eccentricity." Well put.

J Edgar slow and long but actually pretty good, and Leo is really terrific.

Solange

Thanks for pix and that black & white is a keeper for sure ! :)

Wijn

Be looking for my pm :)

Kat

Thanks for great AD tweet !!! :) :)

Also, thanks, for LiLo article , to say I'm sick of reading/hearing about Lohan and Kardashian is an UNDERTSTATEMENT and J Edgar clip.

thanks everybody - I guess you're all right about not being able to respond to everything - sorry for the pity party I was in

Katchitup - that Madalina interview was hard to understand but I liked the part where she seemed to be saying if it were not for the photos that came out with her and Leo in Australia, the interview would not have happened (meaning the magazine was only interested in her because of that) and that made her heart hurt - that sounds so incredibly honest of her and also sensitive.

oxford - wow, thank U! For some reason, he looks a lot like Brad Pitt in these photos.

I'm disappointed the film is not up to standard with Leo according to most people who see it now - i think it will hurt his chances and also hurt at the box office.

The article below was written by a male, do notice how he says the movie impacted him at him, a reaction I've seen reported by many people.

To me it says a lot about the power of Leo's performance

I’ll be honest. This was not a movie I was particularly keen on seeing (though I’ll see pretty much anything Clint Eastwood directs). Like a lot of Americans, I've believed J. Edgar Hoover abused his enormous power in ways that threatened the very nation he was so keen on protecting. Presidents feared him largely because he blackmailed them

I agree Solange! I always thought Leo had a striking resemblance to Brad. Expecially in Blood Diamond and Catch Me if You can. I thought leo looked alot like brad in those movies.

Thanks Sick and Ox for pics!! he looks dashing

DiCaprio couldn't gain enough weight

Leonardo DiCaprio couldn't put on as much weight as he wanted to play J. Edgar Hoover.

The 'Inception' actor plays the historical figure in the forthcoming Clint Eastwood-directed biopic about the Federal Bureau of Investigation founder, and he admitted as much as he wanted to put on the pounds, he had to rely on the costume department for the most part.

He said: "I really wanted to take a break and do the whole real physical transformation. Of course, the film wouldn't allow it.

"It was a massive amount of weight to put on in a very short amount of time. So thankfully, I had a lot of people to help me in that transformation and I think it turned out pretty well."

Leonardo - who is known for his gritty roles in movies including 'The Beach' and 'Shutter Island' - reveals he was delighted to play Hoover because he helped shape the modern US.

He told Access Hollywood: "It was an honour to be able to play a character that has so many eccentricities, somebody that was in power in our country for over 50 years, through eight different presidents, who was in the underground of shaping the country that we know today.

"I didn't agree with a lot of his politics, especially later on in his career. But certainly the world he came into, he transformed our country. He was a true patriot in that sense."
