As to liquor ad , I think that is a fake one , just like some people started making fake posters with Rick Dalton in various foreign movies

From Variety,  Leo has passed on Nightmare Alley,  so we'll have to see what his next project will be  :idk:

I'm  just hoping he will start another project in late  fall 👍

Quote

Bradley Cooper is in early talks to star in Guillermo del Toro and Fox Searchlight’s adaptation of “Nightmare Alley.”

Sources say Cooper recently received an offer and while it’s currently unclear if a deal will close, sources indicate both sides have engaged in talks. Cooper would take the place of Leonardo DiCaprio, who ended up passing on the project after a deal could not be reached.

Del Toro will direct the pic and co-wrote the script with Kim Morgan. “Nightmare Alley” is being produced and financed by del Toro and J. Miles Dale with TSG Entertainment, with Fox Searchlight acquiring worldwide distribution rights to the film.

While Fox made a “Nightmare Alley” movie in 1947, this film will be based moreso on the William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name. The 1947 movie starred Tyrone Power as an ambitious young con-man who teams up with a female psychiatrist who is even more corrupt than he is. At first, they enjoy success fleecing people with their mentalist act, but then she turns the tables on him, out-manipulating the manipulator.

^Kind of a bummer, kinda not. Wondering what went wrong with the deal :idk:

Didn't say Leo once a director have to convince him from his vision? Maybe del Toros wasn't capable of doing it. For me it's typical del Toro and it's one of his biggest problems: he said one thing and is doing the exact opposite.

But I have to say I trust Leo 100% when it comes to choosing movie projects wisely :D Even if that mean we have to wait of them a "little". But boy, please don't waste your precious 40s with doing nothing (again) :chicken:

P.S.: Can't believe some people truly believe he passed the project because of money.

Not that a suprise but here's yet another replacement for Leo in Eastwoods upcoming Ballad of Richard Jewell:

As always only Leo and parties involved know why the Nightmare Alley project didn't come to be,   but , like you , as has been shown in the past ,  if Leo has a passion for a project he will agree to upfront pay cut as typically Leo , like most A list actors, takes less upfront and then makes deals for back end money when the profits come in.  Infact if you recall supposedly his deal for Inception guaranteed  him a certain amount based on the gross even before the profits were figured out

Also, tks, for Once /IG post  :)

My main focus   now is that I hope we don't have to wait too long before we hear of another film project he will do in the fall

Yes,  ever since those retro foreign posters came out featuring Rick Dalton  IG has been flooded with  fan made posters ,  as typically any real ones,  are eventually posted at Tarantino News
