More about possible songs on Django soundtrack

2012 has been pretty good to Frank Ocean. The Odd Future member, rapper and singer bravely came out online, dropped one of the best albums of the year with channelOrange, and became so popular that just last week his tunes were used to soundtrack an episode of "Gossip Girl." Really. Now, if all goes according to plan, he'll have one last hurrah before the year is out.

GQ recently profiled Ocean and in wrapping things up, they noted that "he's got at least five projects in the works, among them a song he wrote for Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained'...." Well, that's certainly a nice surprise. In fact, of all the things known about QT's upcoming slavery/vengeance tale, it's the soundtrack that has been the most guarded it seems. The trailers have been using James Brown's "The Payback" -- a pretty obvious choice all around -- but Ocean suggests that QT has updated his record collection beyond the 1970s. We kid, but it's a contemporary choice that certainly seems like a fresh approach, and indeed that's not all. How about a little Maybach Music?

"I ran into Rick Ross [and] I said, 'Rick, you should come by the set because I know Quentin doesn’t do original stuff, but it wouldn’t hurt for you to come and just feel it because Django is hip hop. This is a different thing.' So Rick Ross shows up, huge fan of Quentin and I said, 'Rick, if you’re going to write a song, I think you should say these words: I need 100 black coffins for 100 bad men, dig 100 black graves so I can lay they ass in. 100 black coffins.' So that would be my contribution. Now what he does with it, I don't know. But if he does what I think, it’s going be it’ll be great," Jamie Foxx recent told About, also noting that John Legend sent a track (on cassette no less).

That being said, just because a song is commissioned doesn't mean it will be used and it remains to be seen how the soundtrack for "Django Unchained" shakes out. But, considering each of Tarantino's movies have been marked by a great selection of songs, we're intrigued to see if this will be his most eclectic yet.

Also the GQ /pix we saw recently of Jackson/Tarantino/Foxx/Waltz was due to the fact that in their Man of Year issue the Django gang were named "Emancipators of the Year"

I can only think that Leo wasn't available for the pix shoot as the reason why he was not included in the group

'The Wolf Of Wall Street' star has graced the front cover of Details magazine this month, looking better than we've seen him in ages; cleanicon1.png shaven (asides from a hint of a Movember moment), dressed in a sharp suit and tie combo and staring straight down the camera lens and into our souls, it seems as if Leo Di Caprio is busily advertising his new single status in style.

This month's edition of the mag, as is clear to see, celebrates "the innovators, risk-takers and big thinkers who are changing the face of entertainmenticon1.png".

Who better to include than Leo DiCaprio? After all, he's starred in everything from 'Titanic' and 'Revolutionary Road'icon1.png to 'Inception' and 'Shutter Island' - this is truly an actoricon1.png who isn't afraid to take chances with his career.

And, in the accompanying interview, Leonardo explains that he is happyicon1.png to take on characters whom audiences will dislike. After all, when it came to 'Django Unchained', he was playingicon1.png "one of, if not the most, despicable, indulgent, radical characters I've ever readicon1.png in my life".

We can't wait to read what Leonardo DiCaprio has to say about the changing face of cinema...

Leonardo DiCaprio Shares Unique On-Screen Smooch

image.jpg

An older woman for Leo!

Leonardo DiCaprio was photographed on the set of his new movie in Brooklyn on Tuesday, sharing a smooch with a woman nearly three decades his senior.

In the photo, DiCaprio, 38, is locked in a passionate kiss with actress Joanna Lumley, 66, while filming The Wolf of Wall Street in Prospect Park.

According to IMDB, the crime drama (out next year) is about a New York stockbroker and corruption on Wall Street. The film also stars Matthew McConaughey and Jonah Hill.

No word yet on whether DiCaprio shares any more hot on-screen smooches with Lumley – or anyone else.
