December 12, 201113 yr I get what you mean Ox. It really is all about campaiging for the Oscar. I have a feeling leo will get nominated for some, but get shut out for others.... I don't what this to be the case, but I think it might be. Lets hope I'm pleasently surprised
December 12, 201113 yr Agree kat: at this point a pleasently surprise is ALL I hope.Beautiful avi of Carey.
December 12, 201113 yr oh ox, now you make me even more sad, Yes Barbie... Oxford always cheering us with good spirit. Cruel Women! you always have to be so honest and direct? I will give By Princess $100 if any of these don't get a nod. Betting on the obvious Honestly, I don't care who are the other contenders, I just want that Leo be nominated! and if not ask for much.. That he Wins Kat and Barbie you're hoping for pleasently surprised... I'm hoping for Justice By the way Barbie I love Carey in the W magazine. She looks GORGEOUS!
December 12, 201113 yr Barbie Glad to be of help I owe most of what I know due to someone I met ( a person older than us ) via an Oscar blog board back when Leo was nodded for TD/BD. They knew I was a big fan of Leo's, and that I was a young girl who naively believed it was all about the best performance, so surely 'my Leo' ( as they used to kid me ) should win If you recall a few weeks back someone posted an article entitled "Do George, Leo, Brad Really Need an Oscar ?" An article which addressed a fact which is true there is nothing being nominated or winning an Oscar can give Leo that he doesn't already have : Talent Respect of his peers. Fame Command top dollar salary /profit points Choice of director or film he wishes to do It is something my 'older friend' also has mentioned to me over the years. At same time, as my friend once told me, "When it comes to awards , Leo's problem is that he is too talented." And I said " What ???" And they said, "Don't you see, no one looks at any performance Leo gives and thinks "He's never given a great performance before; how amazing " or " Gee, this may be the ONLY time he hits the ball out of the ballpark/scores a homerun, so we better acknowledge it with a nod/win. Rather the mindset , as my friend explained to me, is that no matter how many great performances 'your Leo' has given, the mindset is that he has more ahead of him; he's a consistent talent. Thus there will be many other opportunities to award him one. At the end of the day, I think my friend has tried to help remind me that Oscar or no Oscar Leo is a winner As to this week's award nods : BFCA announce Tues 12/13 and SAGS announce Wed 12/14. Usually the BFCA are announced at some point during the day, but the SAGS will be announced between 5:00 and 7:00 am on Wed Kat I think for sure a GG nod is a lock.
December 12, 201113 yr While today's critic groups didn't name a top five group, I noticed that the LA Critics did name Michael Shannon as a runnerup , the Boston awarded Pitt naming Clooney & Fassenbender as runnerups . Thanks for the info
December 12, 201113 yr By Princess I agree to us nominating Leo's terrific J Edgar performance is the right thing to do ; justice , but, games and how games are played are not always about doing the the right thing Fash The model you have as your siggi , do you know where she is from , and is she single ?? As you can see I'm trying to come up with new model possibilties for Leo
December 12, 201113 yr Solange How can anyone be sad with so many great pix of Leo that you brought our way to brighten our day, thanks Kat I love your Carey avatar ; she's such a doll and so talented
December 12, 201113 yr OMG I need a legend to understand when Oxf explains about nominations If you recall the year that Leo got double nods for TD/BD that TD went on to win BP , so he was associated with a BP contender film. Take me a few minutes to understand the initials but I agree with barbie you are very helpful ( #sarcasm/off I am very impressed with your knowledge on the subject It is something my 'older friend' also has mentioned to me over the years. who is that "old" friend of yours? Spielberg, Scorsese, Cameron? #sarcasm/on I ask because in addition to know what he's talking about, also said very nice words Of Leo
December 12, 201113 yr Fash The model you have as your siggi , do you know where she is from , and is she single ?? As you can see I'm trying to come up with new model possibilties for Leo She is from Hungary.... and wait for it.... she JUST turned 18! So, although she is officially legal... I personally think she should still be off limits to him
December 12, 201113 yr She is from Hungary.... and wait for it.... she JUST turned 18! So, although she is officially legal... I personally think she should still be off limits to him me too Also she has a boyfriend.
December 12, 201113 yr By Princess I wish he was ; I'd ask him to "please, please, please, " introduce me to Leo who is that "old" friend of yours? Spielberg, Scorsese, Cameron? As to GG, I think they might place The Artist/Dujardin in the musical /comedy category , thus you could have Clooney/Pitt/Fassenbender/Oldman and Leo in drama /actor . But , then, they might ,also, go another way and opt for Ryan Gosling in that 5th spot for Ides/Drive combo.
December 12, 201113 yr ox: thank you again, I really liked your "old friend". Yeah, maybe the problem is that they could think Leo's too much talented and that he have so many opportunities to win in the future, but I think that when he did an amazing work NOW he should be recognized NOW. I hate this thing, let's wait because he can do even better, for sure he can but it's not fair took his chance now to at least be part of the competition.I agree that Leo already have all this: Talent, respect of his peers, fame, command top dollar salary /profit points, choice of director or film he wishes to do. And with an Oscar or not will not change what I feel for him but as princess said it's a question of justice.solange: thanks for the lovely pics.ox: thanks for the dates again, but GG nominations are not in this week?

December 12, 201113 yr Fash Thanks for information; yes, she is too young for our Leo, my search continues Barbie I think what we need is for all of us to form our own award group to rival the others The Bellazon Movie Association , so we can make sure at least one award group does the right thing Sorry, I forgot to mention GG are announced bright and early on Thurs 12/15 ByPrincess Thanks for most anticipated remake lists
December 12, 201113 yr I liked the idea: The Bellazon Movie Association , this award Leo would never lose. oh thanks again ox. I asked because I remember you mentioned days ago about the GG. We are very close to know what will happen.
December 12, 201113 yr I think what we need is for all of us to form our own award group to rival the others The Bellazon Movie Association , so we can make sure at least one award group does the right thing we could be like Peta... and threatening with extreme actions if leonardo is not nominated in the other ones
