Rolling the eyes at Villa-Arsenal implies that they treated us like they do most 'regular' teams. In the first half, they did. In the second half, they couldn't get the ball. My optimistic "we're through so Martin will be staying!" hooray parade was based on many assumptions, namely that at least a few of the England players would play like they cared and therefore wouldn't lose but Jesus, they still looked like they were playing out time when they were two zip down. The two goals they did score almost looked like accidents and amazingly, they handed Croatia the ball for the final twenty minutes, encouraging them to go forward. To take Martin from Villa would be a severe kick to the go-nads. Would that mean McClaren would want the Villa job? There are so many terrible things to consider! Do me a favour Mourinho, bring your brand of humourless football to the rotting corpse of the England team and allow Villa to carry on up the charts.
