I'd like to state my delight at extending my contract with my own fantasy team for another season. I am a loyal person and committing my future will hopefully show everybody what type of guy I am. I feel like this is me - I love the club, I love being here and I want to put 100% into everything I do here. This is my club and I want to be here. That's why I am committing my future. Hopefully it will give everyone a bit of a lift and show the fans that we are looking to do big things here and bring excitement back to the club. We want to get through this season, do well and I feel the up-and-coming years will be big. There was no way I was going to bail out. I am here for the long run. The fans have been the same. I am sure they will stick with us, help us get through this season and then looking into the future, it looks promising to me.

Cool! I kinda think he is, yes. Though I'm not a huge fan of the English-speaking work he has done so far. He's fine in Flemish and French, but there is a noticeable barrier to his performances when he has to speak English. I've only seen him in Bullhead and Rust and Bone but he's certainly been keeping himself busy.- Diane Kruger

Gullible. Cowardly. Putrid. An offside trap that could've only been concocted whilst high on sleeping pills. I know Guzan made an utterly inept error against Man City but heavens above, Given looks geriatric enough to be having Crimean War flashbacks. If Vito Mannone can reimburse some fans after a Southampton tonking then Vlaar, Okore, Hutton and Bacuna should be building hospitals. Now go win the FA Cup, you rotters.- Football
Couldn't stand the thought of another round of games where everyone picked up points so much obliged to Steve "we've all been there" Bruce and his Hull City KR Tigers Inc. for resolving this. Having said that I wouldn't bet a bag of pork scratchings that feckless Spurs are necessarily capable of beating them next weekend. As for us, a bit helter skelter in the second half but we caused a bum rushed early on and deserved the spoils. Obviously everyone is playing a lot better since the death of Lambert's coma football and the birth of Sherwood fever but none more so than Clever Tom Cleverley, who's ascent from punchline to primetime almost defies belief. This was a man who seemed to have the footballing version of 'the yips', now he's an altogether different species. Bye Burnley. Good riddance, QPR.- Aubrey Plaza
Pictorial rebuttal to those who wonder why guys like De Niro don't retire.- Football
Fascinated to see which Everton show up for the Sunderland game on Saturday, the red hot 'Pep' Martinez sex machine version that whooped Yanited or the rancid assembly that we tore apart in the first half. Hull and Leicester seem likely to pick up at least something and as for us, a win against a barely awake West Ham is highly desirable. In spite of their insatiable luster for kamikaze Newcastle's run in isn't even that difficult though Street Fighting Carver keeps defying the odds week after week!- Football

Tim threw out the turgid possession football Lambert instilled which means Benteke isn't consigned to being a glorified lamppost any more but he's still very much a tactical lightweight and misread what was needed in defence last night (at least one actual full back, sticking to a consistent centre half pairing) irrespective of injuries. I genuinely feared Sandro would score last night and his celebrations would lead to a touchline brawl with his former non-believing bossman so, small mercies and all that. Anyway we're playing North London's resident silver medalists next week, seems like a get smashed to bits or win stoically kind of game.- Football
