I'm pretty underwhelmed with this issue It was only obvious that Brooklyn would get the cover but wouldn't have been my choice. Nothing against her at all but she's kinda generic. Oh, well, congrats to her and her fans. I liked some of Cintia's shots, a couple of Irina's, a couple of Daniella's, a couple of Jessica White's, (not Jessica Gomes, bleh) and actually liked Anne V in a couple. That surprised me cuz I've always had trouble telling her and Brooklyn apart but in this issue, the difference is easily seen. None of the new girls, none of them, impressed me. I always wait for the issue but this one, I won't even buy and that's strange for me. I don't get S.I. using all these new girls at all because they did NOT impress me. But, that's just me, for what it's worth. Someone said earlier that it looked like a swimwear catalog and I think that is exactly right. It just didn't seem like S.I. And, could they have had MORE ads? GEEEEEEEZ! Talk about overload!

Oh, dear If this is true on JJ about Brooklyn, I already have been saying that she would get it but I'm soooooo still thinking that Daniella would be better. Well, let's just get the Brooklyn cover over with and go on to next year, I guess. I don't have anything against Brooklyn because among all the models I have to always remind myself who she is when I see a picture. I'm never sure if it is Anne V. or Brooklyn when I see a picture. Sure, she has a smokin' body, no doubt but I want the cover model to have something "extra" "outstanding" "amazing". But, to all you Brooklyn fans, I totally say congrats to you if she does make it. I, of course, want to see Tori back one of these times and for her to get her cover but if it happens, fine, if not, that's okay, too. She's doing some great work lately and I know scheduling didnt allow her to shoot this year. Anyway, I still would like to see Daniella or Irina or Cintia or even Hillary. But, that's my opinion.

I DO agree about Gisele. She is the absolute closest thing to what we knew as supermodel. It's just kind of a bummer that everyone is called a supermodel. The word doesn't mean anything anymore. But, Gisele comes closest, I'd say. A lot of girls have a recognizable name but usually it's because they are with someone else who is way more famous and therefore, they become famous and get called supermodel. The good ol' days............miss 'em, Christy, Claudia, Kate, etc. I think, (now don't faint) that I agree with mbinebri on a lot of what he says. He broke it down pretty well. I do think, though, that Gisele would be considered one or darn close. And, I don't know if V.S. is the gauge of a supermodel. Doesn't seem like it to me. There has to be a lot more to the girl than that, IMHO.

I'm having a hard time with the phrase supermodel because if you model a toothbrush even, it seems like you get called a supermodel. What's up with that? How do YOU define supermodel and who do you think fits the bill......right now, today? I'd just to see what YOUR criteria is for the name.

Time is gettin' close! Still hoping Daniella gets the cover but I'm almost sure it will be Brooklyn. But, damn, Daniella is deserving and soooooooo beautiful!

I got a warm and fuzzy feeling when I read about Gisele having her baby at home. I think that's the most intimate and loving way to deliver a baby. awwwwww! I wanna' see some more candids of her. I've always loved Gisele and I can't wait to start seeing her again. I know right where that house is that they are building. It's a very private, guarded community and the views are to die for! It's right up against the canyons so it will really give them the privacy that they need.

I'm with you! The celebs must be pinched for money or something. <_< Probably are using the celebs to bring more attention but still, it's takin work from the models who make their living that way. The only one who even remotely makes sense to me in Christian Siriano. He's just........well, Christian, so nothing strange about it. He is in fashion after all.

I almost completely agree with your entire post, Pretty! There are only a few words I disagree with but there's no need to go into them. I actually like most all of the V.S. girls, but day-um! just be yourself and if you are sexy, we will see it. If you are cute and playful, we will see it. There is something to be said for both images. Just be natural and don't force anything too hard, no "in your face" stuff. IMHO

The list of nominees was huge and in alphabetical order. I don't see how they could have been pushing an agenda. Huh?

Some major surprises on the rankings but I saw the polls a month or so ago and you could definitely tell who the editors were pushing! Ones that scored very high on this list, were actually rated much lower by the voters. hmmmm! Well, it's not so surprising 'cuz it is pretty much a men's T & A mag and you need the T's especially. I think if they wanted to be fair, they should let voters do the nominations instead of the editors going with their agenda with the nominations. IMHO
