Brooke Hogan tells us about her love of fashion, travel and what inspires her
written by Bras N Things January 23, 2018
We sat down with Brooke Hogan to find out how she’s spending her summer days and where in the world she’d love to travel to in 2018.
BNT: What is your idea of a perfect summer weekend?
Brooke: My ideal weekend is being down the coast with my boyfriend, family and friends. Beach days, massages, winery dates, family hangouts, drinks with friends, ‘me time’ reading my book, morning walks and coffee dates with my girls. It’s what I do most weekends and I love it!
BNT: What are your favourite weekend snack foods?
Brooke: Are we talking guilty pleasure or healthy? Either way my favourite snacks are ‘Morlife’ dark chocolate coated blueberries, ‘Keep it Cleaner’ Bliss Balls, almonds, a banana, tuna and crackers or a smoothie.
BNT: What’s your daily summer beauty regime?
Brooke: I am very diligent with my skin care. I wash my face morning and night religiously. I use vitamin C cream every morning and also wear 50+ whenever I am out in the sun. My biggest tip would be to wear sunscreen. It may not feel like there is any damage happening now because you’re young but it’s what you do now that will show when you are older so do your best to prevent it.
BNT: If you could visit any place in the world for a holiday where would that be?
Brooke: My boyfriend and I were saying the other day we would love to go to Africa and volunteer at and orphanage and go on a Safari and see the ‘big five’.
BNT: Do have any travel tips for long haul flights?
Brooke: My skin tends to break out on flights so I do EVERYTHING I can to take care of my skin. Load up on water before your flight and drink as much as you can during the flight. Wash your face before you go, don’t wear makeup and use a hydrating face mask as soon as you land.
BNT: When you travel for work or leisure, what do you miss most about Australia?
Brooke: EVERYTHING. I absolutely LOVE home. The main thing I miss when I am away is my family.
BNT: You shot the ‘Live life your own way’ campaign with Robyn Lawley at a beautiful location on Sydney’s stunning Collaroy Beach, do you have a favourite beach in Australia?
Brooke: The location of our shoot was absolutely stunning! I just went to Perth a few weeks ago and my best friend and I went to Mettams Pool and it was incredible, but my favourite beach close to home is Shelley Beach in Sorrento.
BNT: What is your favourite piece from the collection?
Brooke: I loved all the lingerie and bodysuits that I wore on set, but the black Brodie set stands out.
BNT: What does ‘live life your own way’ mean to you? How do you do that?
Brooke: Living life your own way to me is empowerment. It’s about being confident and happy within yourself. It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone and making the choice to do things the way you want even if it isn’t necessarily what other people might think is the ‘right way’.
BNT: What is one piece of advice you would give to a teenager who dreams of becoming a model?
Brooke: I sound like my mum, but definitely finish school first. You can always pursue modelling after your schooling is finished or you can always do modelling on the side. My mum made sure I finished school and but I always made time for modelling on the side. At the time I didn’t understand why she insisted in it but now I know how important it is and am so grateful for my education.
BNT: What does being empowered mean to you?
Brooke: To me, being empowered means being confident in what it is that I am doing and where I am going. Empowerment is setting goals no matter how big or small and reaching them. I feel most empowered when I have a strong network of my friends and family supporting me and driving me.
BNT: Who is the most inspiring woman in your life?
Brooke: My mum, for absolutely everything she has done for my brother and me over the years. For always pushing me to reach my goals, for wiping my tears and making me laugh when times are tough and for being my best friend!
BNT: What best piece of advice you’ve received that you wish everyone knew.
Brooke: To be kind to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else is going through and a simple smile could change somebody’s day.
BNT: What has been your proudest moment/greatest achievement to date?
Brooke: My role as the Australian Grand Prix ambassador in 2017 and, it may sound a little cliché, but when my first campaign for Bras N Things went into stores it was a great moment for me. I used to work in a retail store next to a Bras N Things store and always admired and dreamt of being up there one day. When it finally happened it was a great achievement for me.
