The narration of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County season one is what began Lauren's fame. Her “career” started when MTV came to Laguna Beach High School and chose to cast her and her group of friends to be the stars of the new reality show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. Her life with her friends and at home were documented by the MTV cameras and ended up aiding in the breakthrough of a hit show for MTV. Lauren was the narrator of the first season of Laguna Beach and became an idol to many girls across the US. During the first season of Laguna she had a crush on Stephen Coletti, a good childhood friend. He was dating Kristen Cavallari during most of the season, the two never became more than friends. At the end of the season Lauren graduated and set off to San Francisco, California to attend The Academy of Art University to major in fashion design. She soon found out that she was not cut out for San Francisco and decided to move back to Laguna Beach because she was homesick.
After choosing to be in season two of Laguna Beach, Lauren allowed the cameras to follow her for another year after she graduated from Laguna Beach High school. During this season Lauren received an internship in Los Angeles, California at Three Dots clothing company. She still had feelings for Stephen throughout the season, up until she became attracted to Jason Wahler. The two “hooked-up” near the end of the season and then broke up. Lauren is currently attending college at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, also known as FIDM, and lives in Los Angeles.
Lauren will not be starring in any more seasons of Laguna Beach, but she had her own reality series release in May of 2006. Her reality series "The Hills" followed Lauren after the Laguna Beach era and goes with her to the FIDM in Los Angeles. After as sucessful first season, MTV has brought the series back for a second and third season.
The latest accomplishment Lauren has under her belt is becoming the first-ever spokeswoman for the Mark. cosmetics brand by Avon. In her new role, she will partner with mark, and collaborate in both beauty and fashion initiatives.
