But, his kids did sue Sony actually, alleging that "blurred lines" sounded a lot like “you gotta give it up.” There was some sort of settlement that satisfied Gaye’s family and allowed Sony/Thicke to keep the profits and accolades from such a mega-hit.

Blurred lines was blasting on the “View” numerous times. If Barbara Walters, Whoopi and company were cool with it, I just don’t see your point. Robin Thicke was the king of summer. If a sect of hardcore feminist stood in opposition to the video, than that can hardly be seen as popular opinion. However, millions of records sold, award nominations, and countess appearances can. I think female nudity is bad? Noooooo, not even close. My point of contention is simply that Emily R has the “assets” to be more than what she has been portrayed. SI should be a huge step up, but in this case I think they dropped the ball. As I said, a past/present of nudity should not limit her potential for growth. If that were the case, Uma Thurman and Helen Mirren (just to name a couple) should have been done long ago, and never ascended to stardom.

^^ Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course. I just think yours is totally off the mark. I didn’t think the blurred lines video set back women’s liberation at all. In fact, the song and accompanying video received universal praise and coverage. Just because Emily R appeared nude in a video once, should not doom or confine her to the life of a mere sexpot. As I said, countless women have taken it off, and the vast majority never got a fraction of the attention and coverage that Emily did. If SI considered her a filler model, they certainly had a multitude of others to choose from. Come off that high horse and loosen up a bit.

IMO, its less about Emily’s face, which I like as well, and more about how SI shot her. No effort was made to make her look classy/sexy at all. Picking right up from blurred lines, SI put her in the body paint and some skimpy swim wear, giving her an appearance of being cheap. Big mistake and a waste of her considerable assets. My question is this. Why would they make any effort to make her look classy when her fame is based on not looking classy. She paraded/bounced around naked in a music video and caught the general public's eye because of that. It's not a mistake or a waste, they marketed her based on what made her popular. Makes perfect sense; something along the lines of don't fix what's not broken. To bad about the makeup.

Emily R has to have the best pair of breast in the business, I mean those babies are world class. Natural? I sure hope so.

Lily is the clear, undisputed winner, no matter what the final tally is. Emily Ratajkowski is beautiful and has a killer body, but cannot match the complete package of Lily, whose shoot absolutely blew away everyone else IMO. Additionally, Emily gained a huge following after going nude in Robin Thicke’s blurred lines video. And Gigi is backed by all of the teeny boppers, due to her boyfriend and her mom’s reality show. Lily is the real winner and we know it.

But it seems like Gigi will take it. 1. Kate Upton does nothing for me. I know that is blasphemy to most people, but I don’t like her body or face at all. Highly overrated IMO. 2. Sadly, I have to agree with you about Genevieve Morton. She is wildly popular, but I just don’t see it at all. 3. Emily’s body is unreal, but her shots seems cheap and not classy at all. SI chose (unwisely) to show her off as a sexpot. Total waste for great material. Don’t get me wrong, loved the body paint as much as the next guy, she is capable of much more. 4. Surprised and saddened to hear that Chanel has a bad personality. She has always been a favorite. 5. What can I say? Great minds think alike. Lily knocked out of the park and was the absolute best IMO. She deserved the cover to herself and is the true ROTY, no matter what the vote tally says. 6. Manly? Masculine face? Underwhelming shots? You were doing so well in the review, but this is where I get off the train. Could not disagree with you more on this point, however, I do respect your opinion. Quality shoot and a total exotic beauty.

^ I wouldn’t say she’s too good, as SI Swim would be incredible exposure and open up even more doors for her. However, she is in the midst of her run as VS’s flagship model (especially swim) and it would seem like terrible business to have her do SI. I don’t know if VS could prevent her from doing it, if she ever decided to do so
