i find it hard to believe that si would go through all the trouble they have in years past to keep the cover a secret only to reveal it a week early this year.

At this point Chrissy is like a kardashian. It doesn't matter if people actually like her (and I think the general public does) people talk about her and she sells.

I actually think the political stuff favors her. I don't know if you've noticed but if you publicly support trump you will be endlessly shamed and if you trash trump you will be endlessly praised. Any backlash for the political commentary will be relegated to anecdotal social media proclamations from right wingers and maybe a short segment on Fox News. The publicity would far outweigh any backlash in my opinion. And of course if there were backlash Chrissy wouldn't be able to keep her loud mouth shut and it would keep SI in the news which is always a good thing.

This is the problem. The target audience is males 18-54. They can pretend to be noble and progressive but the fact is the issue relies on men buying their issue. As one of those men, with every overweight model they include I get that much closer to cancelling my subscription and not buying the issue. They can do what they want and I don't have an intellectual opposition to using plus sized models. I just don't want to look at them in a bathing suit. The transgender thing is coming, I have no doubt. In fact I wouldn't say it's a terrible idea because the publicity would be outrageous but again as a straight male, I would not find that attractive.

Thats a shame. I feel like it's a tease with the picture quality being that poor. Beggars can't be choosers though.

Of course ratings will go down. Ratings have been declining for everything. I wouldn't read too much into it unless they decline dramatically. When NFL football has declining ratings then no one is immune.

No argument here. I didn't mean to suggest there was nobody who liked Ashley. I was being a little rhetorical in trying to express my opinion. Do you think Ashley's presence will have a similar effect this time around in terms of publicity? Or will she just be there like every other model. I ask because I agree with you she definitely brought the attention like Kate upton. But Kate upton was able to keep the publicity whenever she was in the magazine so it would make a certain amount of sense to give her special treatment.

Yea and she's back in 2017. And si just released this video showcasing the swimsuit edition. I figured this was the best forum to bring it up in since it was the most visceral reaction I had and I immediately thought about her being in the up coming issue.

So I know this is a battle already lost but it struck me as I was watching the latest "making of" documentary for the 2016 issue. But why is Ashley graham in this again? In her segment they put together a montage of her, lily aldridge, Haley clauson, Emily d and they're all writhing around in tiny bikinis and the other models look unbelievable and then it inevitably cuts to Ashley and it's ridiculous. I don't want to call her names but these other girls have bodies to die for and bodies that I want to look at. Even girls in the magazine that I don't prefer usually have assets that I can appreciate. Ashley not so much. Not in a bikini at least. I just hope SI and the media are done patting themselves on the back and she doesn't take over the media tour like last year.

It's days like today that I am reminded how Kate upton became famous and why I was a fan. She's got a great, fun personality when she allows it to come out.
