i doubt it's jarah. her last issue was 2009. i know ariel was in non-consecutive issues (2009, 2012, 2013) but i think for jarah to return in 2014 after not being in the previous four issues is highly unlikely. too bad, though, i thought jarah was good.

edita will not be in the issue. not this year, not next year, not any time soon. SI is so far beneath her it's not even worth thinking about. it's unfortunate, but that's the state of SI these days. maybe someday they'll have a fashion editor again instead of a...geography major or whatever. and i'm not sure how you guys spot brjeigje with just one small, dark buttpic but didn't you tell me over and over that they wouldn't actually cast the girls who showed up to casting calls?

yeah, blurred lines is not the greatest song, but think of it this way: when is the last time people were actually talking about a music video? or even more specific, about a hot chick in a music video? helena christensen in chris isaac's "wicked games"? tawny kitaen in whitesnake's "here i go again"? for better or worse, emily in "blurred lines" revived a unique cultural happening that hadn't occurred in years. there's also the nudity aspect, which can't go unmentioned. i see your point that this doesn't necessarily translate into high fashion popularity, but it may hint at something fairly significant within certain cultural circles

hannah davis wasn't rookie of the year. not that it matters. nina agdal may very well follow anne v, melissa haro, esti ginzburg, and chrissy teigen as rookies of the year who haven't yet gotten / may never get the cover.

blurred lines wasn't her first music video but her third. (taio cruz - fast car, maroon 5 - love somebody) she was in a carl jr commercial, lingerie and swimwear campaigns of several brands (fredericks, naked princess, amie, fox, etc), galore magazine, virtually every issue of treats magazine, bl!sss, GQ turkey and US, smaller feature in esquire US, shoots with jonathan leder, john urbano, henrik purienne, olivia malone. i know i'm leaving out a lot. all in the span of a few years. it's nothing to sniff at.

i wish i could've bought stock in this girl! on google trends she has surpassed nina agdal and irina shayk. of the current SI roster, only kate upton is more popular.

a little from column A, a little from column B maybe i was just taken aback at the negative response towards catrinel. seems like her name is mentioned early and often here when musing about who should've been in the issue. i would say she's past her prime, but that hasn't stopped half of the models currently in the issue.
