Lars Lagerbäck has expressed his delight that Raul won't be playing for Spain against his Swedish outfit in the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifier at the Bernabeu. The experienced coach said, "Raul is my favourite type of player. It's fascinating to watch him." Drawing comparisons with Swedish legend Henrik Larsson, the ten-year veteran of the national setup praised Raul's "mobility" and "character." Still, for all his admiration of Raul, he knows that those Spanish players that will take part on Saturday will pose his side a threat. "Spain have many fantastic players," he admitted. "You could put out three teams with the squad that they have, and they'd all be equally good. "I agree with Martin Olsen [Denmark coach] that Spain are the European Brazil." Sweden need just a point to formally secure their place at Austria-Switzerland next year, but the manager insists that his side wil aim to go one better. "We will try to win, even though it's tough to beat Spain away from home," he said. The Swedish national squad are already in Madrid in preparation for Saturday's encounter, with Wednesday's training session beginning at 12:00 local time.

The ruling has quashed speculation that the woman who gave up 2-year-old Zahara wanted the child back. But Dr. Tsegaye Berthe, head of the Wide Horizons for Children Agency, slammed the rumors as "media hype by unethical journalists." At the time of the adoption the girl's grandmother sent a letter to a court in the country's capital, Addis Ababa, stating that Zahara's mother was dead. Dr. Berhe confirmed this and insisted that Jolie and Pitt were deemed to be worthy parents, saying, "The court approved the adoption after studying the document her grandmother wrote. "The grandmother brought three witnesses to court who testified that Zahara's mother had died and that her father was unknown. "The court also investigated the social status of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt before approving the adoption." Jolie adopted her first child, Maddox, 6, from Cambodia in 2002, who was followed by Zahara, 2, from Ethiopia, and Pax, 3, from Vietnam. Pitt later applied to become their adoptive father. The couple also has their own biological daughter, 17-month-old Shiloh.
