Carlo Ancelotti: Pato better than Ronaldinho Carlo Ancelotti has increased the pressure on Milan new boy Alexandre Pato by insisting that he can outshine long-term target Ronaldinho. The 18-year-old signed from Brazilian side Internacional in the summer and will be available to make his first full appearances for the Rossoneri after January 3. “I’d say that Alexandre is better than Ronaldinho,” Ancelotti boasted to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The starlet made his non-competitive debut for the Diavolo in a friendly against Dynamo Kiev on September 3 and marked the occasion with a headed goal. “He is a phenomenon and with him available we can return to playing with two strikers,” Carletto revealed. The struggling European champions are eagerly awaiting his contribution to their Serie A campaign and sources inside the club suggest that he has shown devastating talent in training. Despite Milan’s poor form, Ancelotti concluded by maintaining that his side are still in the title hunt. “I still think we can win the Scudetto because it is a very strange and even championship this year,” he stressed.- Kaká
Kaka could quit AC Milan Kaka has surprisingly admitted that he could be forced to quit Italy if violent scenes persist in the nation’s stadiums. The Brazilian ace has always insisted that he will remain at the San Siro for the foreseeable future and even suggested that he would be willing to extend his current contract. However, the weekend’s events seem to have caused the Brasilia native to think twice about his future. “Could I leave Italy? Yes, if these violent episodes continue,” the Ballon d’Or favourite told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “I love football because it brings me happiness, but at the moment I can’t enjoy myself. “If there are big problems in Italian football that prevent me doing my job properly, anything could happen. “I am worried for my family’s safety as my wife and parents frequently come to watch me, so there is a chance I could move to another country.” Kaka has repeatedly been linked with Real Madrid, but the Spanish champions officially retracted their interest in the 25-year-old a few weeks ago. However, the Merengues may be tempted to reconsider their options if they sense that Kaka could be open to approaches.- Kaká
Kaka demands calcio clean-up Kaka has warned that the stars will leave Italy unless the game addresses its problems and has set his targets for the future. Calcio is in crisis after the death of Lazio fan Gabriele Sandri with debate raging over the logical course of action to prevent violence in stadiums across the nation. “Italian football is losing credibility,” Kaka told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “We need to take action immediately or the sport could die. “The scandals, the dead police officer and now the dead fan. Stop it now or the champions will leave one after another.” The Brazilian ace now seems certain to clinch the Ballon d’Or award for European Player of the Year on December 2. “If I win it, I will have to thank God first of all then everyone who has supported me starting with my wife,” he beamed. Despite the Rossoneri’s dismal start to the season, Kaka still believes that he can add team silverware to individual honours. “We can still win the Scudetto,” the 25-year-old claimed. “I’m not scared about how far behind Inter we are. “There are still so many games to play and two derbies. I’m dreaming of a Milan-Barcelona Champions League Final." “I also want to win at the Olympics as Brazil has never won that trophy,” he continued. “The problem is that I am above the selection age, so I will need Carlos Dunga to choose me as one of his overage quota. I really want to take part in the Chinese adventure.” Kaka concluded by discussing his Milan future and the possible arrival of struggling compatriot Adriano. “Real is a closed chapter for me at the moment. If Milan wanted I would be ready to extend my contract immediately and my current deal doesn’t expire until 2011. Nobody should doubt my desire to stay at Milan for many years. “I have spoken to Adriano a few times and I would be happy if he came to Milan. He would be a big signing and perhaps he would find some peace. But I don’t want to say any more than that because I don’t know his situation.”- Zac Efron

Italy's Cannavaro glad he plays in Spain MILAN, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro said on Tuesday he was glad he now played in Spain given the violent scenes surrounding Italian soccer over the weekend. Atalanta's match with AC Milan was abandoned when fans tried to smash a pitchside barrier in response to the shooting of a Lazio fan by a policeman, while trouble broke out elsewhere. "I believe I am lucky to play abroad," the Real Madrid defender told reporters at Italy's training base in Florence. "I play at Real Madrid, a club that has a perfect stadium, full of children, without violence. From the outside I realise the awful images Italian football gives itself. We cannot go on like this." Despite the trouble, Italy are trying to concentrate on their most important match since lifting the World Cup in Berlin last year. Defeat in Scotland on Saturday would mean third-placed Italy, one point behind the Scots and two behind Group B leaders France, would have to win against the Faroes on Nov. 21 and hope Ukraine beat France at home that night to go through. "For us it will be fundamental to win and we know we are able to do it. But Scotland have been a real surprise, they have beaten France twice," he said.- Fabio Cannavaro
Canna happy to be abroad Real Madrid stopper Fabio Cannavaro has admitted that he is glad to be playing abroad as Italian football is in turmoil. With no decision yet to be made regarding the future of the Serie A campaign, the former Juventus captain is happy at the Bernabeu. “I feel lucky to be playing abroad,” he told journalists. “I play for Real Madrid and they are a club with a perfect stadium where children can watch games without fear of violence. “From abroad I can see the bad image that Italian football is projecting. We haven’t managed to control the sport that we love. “It is absurd that someone should die trying to get to a football game.” While the events of the weekend came as a shock to Cannavaro, he admits that he saw evidence of problems building when he was in Italy. “We need to change the relationship with certain sets of fans,” he stressed. “Too often we give too much importance to people who have little to do with the real fans, “The clubs put up with too many of these incidents and I even remember interference on the training ground when I played in Italy. “The people in charge must change things as quickly as possible as we can’t go on like this,” he concluded.Account
