Filippo Inzaghi
Inzaghi: AC Milan doesn't need foreign striker signing AC Milan striker Pippo Inzaghi has urged management not to buy a new striker from outside Serie A. Didier Drogba, of Chelsea, has been linked with Milan, but Inzaghi insists: "In my opinion, Milan only need to make a few slight modifications this summer. "There's no need for any revolution, especially in attack. We already have Alexandre Pato, Alberto Gilardino and Alberto Paloschi guaranteed to be here. "Marco Borriello is doing so well at Genoa and I would not hesitate in recalling him. He is strong, powerful and has developed very well during the season. "I repeat - I don't want any foreign marksmen. Milan already have stronger players than many other sides and they just need to be given confidence."

Michael Schumacher
Weber not worried about Schumacher's bike races 27 March 2008 Michael Schumacher's manager Willi Weber has said he is not worried about the risks that come along with racing motorcycles. Schumacher's former team boss Jean Todt said he wasn't too excited to see Ferrari's advisor race bikes as it is a dangerous hobby. Speaking with Germany's Bild newspaper Weber said: "I am not worried about Michael (Schumacher). He always knows what he is doing and the risks he is taking. It is just like racing in Formula 1. Anything can go wrong really but he will leave nothing to chance I'm sure." Schumacher completed in two motorcycle races so far this year and finished third a week ago.

Paolo Maldini
Maldini Not Even Good Enough For U.S.A - Gullit Ruud Gullit has slammed former club AC Milan and the whole of Italian football as old and slow, and says that Paolo Maldini is not even good enough to play in the United States. Dutchman Gullit was part of Arrigo Sacchi’s legendary Milan team from the late 80s and early 90s, a squad that dominated European football, and is considered as one of the greatest of all time. Gullit is now manager of David Beckham’s Major League Soccer-outfit LA Galaxy, and he has launched a scathing attack against the current Milan team, following their disappointing season. "These days, Milan is an old team, it must change,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “The elimination from the Champions League [against Arsenal] did not surprise me, the Rossoneri have not been playing well.” Gullit also surprisingly hit out at Milan captain Paolo Maldini, a player who by all admissions has been the side’s best player over the past month, and impressed hugely against Arsenal. "Paolo Maldini is now 40 years old and even too old for the United States, I would rather take home with me Rino Gattuso," he stated. Finally the 45-year-old extended his attack to Italian football as a whole, specifically singling out Inter. "Inter also look to me to be slow and predictable, the whole of Italian football seems very slow,” he concluded.

Player Ratings: Spain 1-0 Italy Carlo Garganese rates the players on show in tonight’s international friendly from the Luis Valero di Elche Stadium. Casillas – 7.5: A few shaky moments on crosses, but performed a fantastic one-on-one save from Camoranesi just seconds before Spain scored. Ultimately this stop swung the game. Sergio Ramos - 6.5: Was caused a number of problems by Di Natale before the break, but improved markedly in the second half, and was always ready to support the attack. Puyol – N.A: Lasted just 16 minutes before he was forced off with injury. His replacement Albiol proved a more than able replacement for the Barcelona symbol. Marchena – 7.5: Spain’s most impressive defender, his reading of the game was exemplary, making a number of interceptions in-and-around the box. Capdevila – 7: A very steady performance from Capdevila at left back. Defensively and offensively performed all of his duties. Senna – 6: A powerful display, Senna added some much-needed balance in midfield. Had a number of long-shots but these were all off-target. Fabregas – 6.5: Struggled to make his mark early in the game as Xavi hogged the possession, but then really grew into the game, and brought out two fine saves from Buffon. Xavi – 7.5: Blew hot and cold but when he was hot he was hot. An absolute magician when he gets the ball, he sees passes that others do not know exist. Iniesta – 6: Made little impact on proceedings, even if he livened up in the very late stages. Silva – 5.5: Struggled badly to get into the game, and was stopped almost every time he went forward by the veteran right back Panucci. Torres - 7: A real live-wire until he was substituted at the break. Would have scored had it not been for a brilliant Buffon save. Substitutes: Albiol - 6.5, Villa – 8.5, Xabi Alosno - 6, Riera – 5.5, Luis Garcia – 6, Arbeloa - 6
