Top ten for Honda 23 March 2008 Honda achieved a top 10 finish in today's Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang Circuit in Kuala Lumpur. Jenson Button brought his RA108 home in 10th place and team-mate Rubens Barrichello ended the race in 13th position. "It was good to finish the full race distance today and we will get a lot of very useful information from this weekend," said Button. "I'm pretty satisfied with 10th place as that is where the performance of the car is right now. With the majority of cars ahead of us also finishing, it is a good reflection of our overall position. We're going in the right direction and learning more about the car all the time, so we need to keep up the hard work and continue to develop ahead of the next race in two weeks' time." Barrichello commented, "Unfortunately my weekend was compromised when we lost the free practice running on Saturday morning, as I lacked balance in the car for the race today. I had a lot of understeer and was battling with that throughout the race. The drive-through penalty after my second stop was unfortunate, even though I only lost one place, as the markings in the pitlane to indicate where the speed limit ends were not clear enough." Team boss Ross Brawn added, "This weekend was more straightforward for the whole field compared with Melbourne and we saw fewer drivers making mistakes. Sepang is also a more representative circuit in terms of car performance, as Melbourne can produce unusual results. Therefore to see Jenson finish the race in 10th place with Rubens just behind, in spite of his problems in the third free practice session, is very encouraging and a real indication of the car's pace. There is still a great deal of work to do but we are really starting to make improvements one step at a time."

Zidane Tips Ronaldo For Triumphant Return Former Real Madrid master Zinedine Zidane has tipped ex-teammate Ronaldo for a triumphant return from his recent injury woes... 'Zizou' moved quickly to contradict Pele, with the Brazilian legend having previously stated that due to Ronaldo's age he will never again hit peak form. But the former French international remarked, "Even though Pele said no, I must say yes. "Ronaldo showed back in 2002 that he can overcome difficult situations. "That's why he is 'The Phenomenon.'" The two played together for four seasons at Real Madrid, with Zidane's contribution to the side ending in 2006. Ronaldo didn't last much longer, moving to AC Milan in early 2007. The pair have each twice won the FIFA World Player of the Year award, an achievement shared only between the pair of them.

Oddo Hails 'Crucial' Win Milan right-back Massimo Oddo has reflected on his side's vital victory against Torino on Saturday, insisting they must now prepare to do the same in games to come... Carlo Ancelotti's side went into the game under a world of pressure following a loss at home to Sampdoria mid-week. The humiliating defeat threatened to put the Rossoneri out of the running for the Champions League qualification places, but Fiorentina also lost on the same day at Napoli. Today's victory did not see Milan make ground on Fiorentina, as they also won themselves. However, for all their domination, the Rossoneri threatened to throw the points away but it was Pato who made the difference. Alberto Gilardino deserves the main plaudits for the goal itself, but as his effort looked like it may have been kept out, Man of the Match Pato was in the right place at the right time to bundle it over the line and secure a huge three points. Full-back Massimo Oddo, who had a good game himself, rued Fiorentina's late winner that prevented Milan from closing the gap, but was keen to look ahead toward the games to come and looking to take maximum points to stay in the face for Champions League qualification. "We needed these three points for the morale, but especially for the standings," explained Oddo. "Too bad Fiorentina managed to win with a late goal, but we don't give up. Today it was crucial to win. Now we have two consecutive home games in which we must get six points at all costs. "We came on the pitch with determination, we realised our mistakes and showed our will to win. The score could have been bigger because we created many chances, but it's OK because in the end we won. "Away from home we usually do better than at home, but now we have to do better in our home games too."

Pato Enjoys 'Important Goal' Milan's matchwinner against Torino, Alexandre Pato, was a boy enjoying his work for the day as he spoke to Milan Channel. It was a difficult yet must win game for the Rossoneri in the race for fourth place, and a determined Torino side hardly made things easier. In the end, it was a man of the match performance by Alexandre Pato - highlighted by his 66th minute goal - that earned Milan three points, and the Brazilian was pleased with his effort. "Today I scored a very important goal because it brought the three points for the team," he said after the game. "We played a great match against a team who played well. We attacked a lot before we managed to score." "On the move that resulted in the goal, Gila [Alberto Gilardino] played a great ball through and all I had to do was poke it in," he added. "Both in the first half and in the second we came onto the pitch with determination and the victory duly arrived.
