  1. I love her style. @Clauds do you still run barrefaelionline? I always want to know where she gets a lot of her candid outfit pieces from. I would love to know if there is an instagram or a website that ID's her outfits?
  2. I think I just really want that blue in the KKW palette Also the fact that i've been dying to get my hands on something Mario has been behind. I really wish I got the Anastasia x Mario palette when I had the chance, those colors are stunning On another note, I've had my Modern Renaissance for almost two years now and I haven't hit pan on any of the colors (except for shades Vermeer and Primavera which are getting pretty close). The shades are so damn pigmented you barely need to touch the pan and your saturated with color I haven't touched the pink/red shades though.
  3. Ha, I am in no world more attractive than Sanne, but thanks for the compliment
  4. Who else desperately wants the new KKW x Mario palette? The quality sounds pretty good (I've heard multiple youtubers say they are much smoother and pigmented than Kylie's palettes). I missed out on the Mario palette collab with Anastasia so I don't wanna miss out on this one $45 is a fair price too considering the size of the pans. Mario is amazing, you can really tell he is behind this palette 100%. https://kkwbeauty.com/products/10-pan-eyeshadow-palette
  5. Her eyes in this video Easy when she looks this good from the get go
  6. Interview: Sara Sampaio is angry. Well, the 26-year-old Portuguese model uses a slightly stronger adjective than that herself, but let’s just say that she is very angry. “Models are expected to show up on set, just be pretty, do our job and not say a word,” she explains. “When we do open our mouths, we’re branded as difficult, opinionated, troublemakers; we are told that we don’t know what we are talking about.” Modeling is one of the few industries in which women outearn men, she points out, “but we are still not respected. We are still exploited. And it’s such a disposable industry that girls feel like they can’t say anything, because there will be some other girl out there who will just do it.” Sampaio, a Victoria’s Secret Angel with more than 10million followers on social media, where she is more than prepared to use her voice and “hold people accountable”, is not one of those girls who will “just do it”. In the summer of 2017, she used Instagram to call out French magazine Lui after it published revealing pictures of her. “I’m fine with nudity. I have done nudity in the past, but I don’t do nudity for men’s magazines,” explains Sampaio. “I cansuggest nudity, but I don’t want to show my boobs to a men’s magazine.” The model alleges that Lui agreed to her terms and signed a no-nudity agreement, but on set, a member of the team attempted to persuade her to relent; Sampaio stood firm. Shots were taken as a red furry shrug slipped off her shoulders, accidentally revealing her breasts; she says she was assured they wouldn’t be used. “And they wanted wet skin, here…” – she rubs her collarbone – “so the vest got wet. But they told me they’d only use the shot from my neck up.” When the issue hit newsstands, Sampaio was featured on the cover, in white knickers and the furry shrug, her left nipple very much on show. Inside was the wet shot featuring her whole upper torso…and both nipples. “I felt violated,” she says. “So, what, now every time I’m on a set, do I have to delete the photos to make sure nobody uses them?” It’s a brisk March afternoon in Queens, New York, and the slate-colored sky is threatening snow. Even without a scrap of makeup – perhaps especially without it – Sampaio is ridiculously, distractingly pretty, with her mane of dark hair, green eyes and bee-stung lips. When she laughs, which is often, her grin is wide, open, and slightly, endearingly, goofy. She’s wearing Dr. Martens boots and skinny jeans, frequently pulling the cuffs of her striped hoodie over her hands. For a model known for sexy lingerie shoots, her sexiness is far from overt. There was a time, earlier in her career, when Sampaio would walk a mind-boggling 90 runway shows across the four consecutive fashion weeks, for houses including Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs; this year, she skipped them all, spending February in LA instead. “I’m trying to get into acting,” she reveals. “It’s still all very new, but I am taking lots of classes and going on auditions. People have been like: oh, there will be so many nos, so many rejections.” She laughs. “I’m a model; I’m used to that.” But she’s clear about her own nos, too. “I don’t want to be in anything that will be…” She searches for the word. “How do you say it…gratuitous? I don’t want to be there just because I’m pretty.” Sampaio grew up in Porto, on the north coast of Portugal, where her father is a professional scuba diver and her mother works for an import company. Fashion could not have been further from her thoughts. “My mother would tell you, my fashion [sense] was atrocious,” she laughs. “I had no sense of style at all.” She did, however, want to act. At 16, she entered a hair modeling competition. “The past two winners had gone into acting, and I thought, I have great hair, maybe I can win.” She has, and she did, which led to being signed by a modeling agency. “And things just started happening.” By the age of 19, Sampaio was living in Paris; at 20, she moved to New York, where she began modeling for lingerie behemoth Victoria’s Secret. After being turned down twice, on her third attempt she was booked for the much-hyped annual show, and became an Angel – meaning she works year-round for the brand – in 2015. It’s both a lucrative contract and an enormously profile-raising role, but the company exacts its pound of tanned, toned flesh – VS Angels work notoriously hard and are expected to look flawless every single day. “It is a lot of pressure,” Sampaio admits. “But not from them – I put that pressure on myself. You are constantly in lingerie; your body is constantly on show. You just want to look your best.” She works out five times a week with a personal trainer. “If I could, I would live off pizza,” she laments. “But I can’t, because I’m getting older,” she sighs, putting her head in her hands. “I miss my 19-year-old metabolism.” ven her aversion to gratuitousness, I wonder if, at a moment in which women are collectively standing up to objectification, Victoria’s Secret, with its titillating, flesh-filled show, might need to reconsider its approach and message? “No, I don’t think so at all,” she answers firmly. “I think it’s kind of hypocritical that now people want everyone to be equal, they want everyone to be a feminist. But if a girl is being sexy because she wants to be sexy, people are saying, ‘Oh, no, you can’t be sexy.’ Isn’t that anti-feminism?” I suggest that some critics feel the ‘sexiness’ Victoria’s Secret sells is one constructed specifically by, and for, the male gaze. “Victoria’s Secret is not geared towards men – we are selling lingerie to women,” Sampaio insists.“We are selling a dream. Everyone wants to feel sexy.” I retreat to the safer conversation territory of her boyfriend, Oliver Ripley, a half-British, half-Russian, Oxford-educated entrepreneur, whom she has been seeing for two and a half years, and who apparently travels more than she does. “He came to LA for a week, and now I don’t know when I am going to see him next,” says the model. “I don’t even know where he is – maybe Tulum? It’s somewhere warm, anyway.” Ripley recently co-founded and launched a hotel group called Habitas, the first of which has opened in the fashionable Mexican resort, with more to follow in the Bahamas and Miami. “But we always meet somewhere.” She grins merrily, and motions being on the phone. “He will call and say: ‘Where are you going to be next week? Paris? Oh, I am in London – do you want to pop in for a day?’ We make that effort to meet each other, especially when we have been apart for a while. It keeps the thing alive.” When not traveling, they are both based in New York; Sampaio has an apartment in Tribeca, but the city is “too mental” for her. “I need to be by the ocean, I need space, I need sunshine. I really do love LA,” she sighs, dreamily. And while her job means she cannot abandon social media entirely, there’s one digital detox she is committed to. “‘Burning Man is my phone-free time of year,” she says of the festival in Black Rock City, Nevada. “Nobody else is on their phone, either – they are talking to each other, not posting everything. “I tell my mother that I am alive, and that I will be out again in five days,” she says. “Then I turn off my phone.” It sounds like the dream. https://www.net-a-porter.com/gb/en/porter/article-0b2eee2c68ab84cd/cover-stories/cover-stories/sara-sampaio?cm_mmc=Twitter-_-Magazine-_-20180323&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=t.co
  7. The concealer creased SO BAD. I've never had an issue of concealer creasing and this was sooo bad. Like I said still has good coverage, so I'll keep it for covering zits and whatnot, but for the eyes nooooo. I've been wanting to try the banana powder! I almost bought one of their lipkits then looked at the reviews and they were pretty bad. A lot of their shadow pallets have decent reviews.
  8. Finally got the opportunity to try some Makeup Revolution here in the States for the first time! Some of my thoughts: Brow Pomade- Pretty nice for $9. Really competes with Anastasia, even though Anastasia is still better. But for less than half the price? Worth it. The brush they give you to use with it is dinky though, use a different brow brush and you'll be fine. Concealer- I know everyone raved this concealer was comparable to Shape Tape, but this stuff creased like no other in the undereyes I really wanted it to work. Then again the coverage is nice, and wouldn't be bad for covering up some spots. I mean it was also only $9, so I'm not too mad about it. Probably won't repurchase it though. Liquid Highlighter - A little of this goes a looooonnngggg way. Has a little too much microglitter in it for me, but the glow is there. I would recommend this for sure. Anybody have any favorite Makeup Revolution products? They had tons of eyeshadow pallets that were blatant dupes for Anastasia ones.
  9. FINALLYYY!! I'm excited for this. I had my reservations about this film because of the Manson backlash, but it sounds like it's more of a tale about Hollywood around that time period, and not completely Manson centered. Leo and Brad together?! Hell yes I'm wondering if this filming will be fairly under wraps as most of his movies are.
  10. OMG thats terrible. I had Immature makeup CEO's doing crap like this. Some of these brands have no respect. @toodarnhot I have no idea why they would do something like this. It's just straight up dumb business. There are literally no shades for even medium complexion girls. Rosie herself may not even be able to find a shade like WTF.
  11. ^Are people calling her out for it? Come on that's just stupid at this point. I'm white and pretty sure a majority of those shades are too light for me, how is anyone any darker or with different undertones supposed to find any shade match? It's ridiculous. I hope they get called out on it, it's a shame people of color are just an after thought. It's ignoring an entire market that spends tons of cash on makeup
  12. ^I know I"ve really reeled it back too. Around Christmas I decided to clean out my makeup and I threw away sooo much and still had soo much I swear I have thousands of liquid lips that are all pinkie mauve colors (but they have different undertones, I swear ) @toodarnhot Not to mention, I think the Soft Glam pallet has three repeat shades, so it's a no from me. I really wanted the Mario Pallet, I hate that they don't sell it anymore I've gone to just re-buying my staple pieces. I don't know if you guys have ever tried Gerard cosmetics (I know they are kind of an influencer brand) but I have this lip liner pencil in the shade "Cher" and it is the bomb! I just reordered another after I ordered my first last year. Slightly darker than my natural lip color, perfect for lip contouring and making the lips look bigger than what they are. They are super creamy and pigmented, worth the money for sure. https://www.gerardcosmetics.com/lip-pencil.html
  13. Damn, Anastasia Beverly Hills needs to slow down with how many new products they are releasing Out of all the new launches from her brand, anything must haves for you guys? (Soft Glam Palette, new bronzers, highlighter, new liquid lipstick shades) Not crazy about the Soft Glam palette, though I'm digging the color scheme more than Prism or Subculture. You just can't beat Modern Renaissance. I'd be curious to see how their bronzers perform. I really like my Too Faced Chocolate soleil. This new liquid lipstick is calling my name though
  14. Congrats Danielle, I'm loving the cover!!
  15. I'm in the minority but I am loving the cover. Danielle is gorgeous, though I do think this shot would have been better. Overall though the issue and model lineup was pretty disappointing. Ben Watts had the best shots out of the bunch, Alexis looks plastic as HELL (I had to laugh how she just posted on her Instagram how she is about self love like girl clearly your not because all you've been doing the past 3 years is ruin your face). I have a friend who is a photographer in LA and he knows for sure that her and Jay's relationship was all contract and they were never even really together. Girl is faker than all get out. Chase looked great. Hope to see more of her. Kate Upton is beautiful but its getting a bit boring at this point. Got to move on already. Out of all the plus models that shot, I think Kate Wasley's pics look nice.
  16. I want to see Leo working again, and I like Tarantino movies but I don't know about this Manson project. Besides the revelations about Tarantino, I kind of agree with Debra Tate that a movie like this could be pretty tasteless considering it's about the real life greif of a horrific event. We know Tarantino's style, and he includes a lot of gore and comedy, something with subject matter like this could come off as pretty tasteless. If Manson and the murders were just a small element of this movie, and rather focused on LA during the time of the murders I think it could work. Like, if it goes a kind of biopic route perhaps? But if it goes all Tarantino style (ex. Kill Bill) making light of the situation and glorifying and "gore"ifying the murders, making it a "fun" movie, then I don't that's good at all. But then again Django Unchained tackled some pretty touchy subject matter and still worked. I don't know! This sucks because I want to see Leo working again SO BADLY. But I also don't want Leo to take a role that could get him backlash. Thank you all for the updates BTW!
  17. Thank you! Anyone have any idea when the Valentines Day campaign was shot/who shot it?
  18. Just curious, are the VS 2018 Valentines Day campaign pics out yet?
