OMG!!

This version looks a lot better (haven't watched it yet). Of course there also Russian films/shows about the novel : Another issue I have with the Joe Wright movie with Keira K is the costumes. It just looks...off. Like it's a mixture of American 1920s stuff (Great Gatsby) with Russian stuff.

I am referring to the book. I withdraw my comment about Pride & Prejudice. They are different stories and about different people. Anna Karenina however, is much more of a grand, epic romance /tragedy and it really draws the reader into the world of Russian nobility. So far it is a masterpiece of writing. Pride and Prejudice on the other hand (both film and book) draws the reader into the world of British gentry. I haven't seen the film. TBH it seems over stylized as to be unreal.

Not just them, Penny's modeling career has gone nowhere it seems and she literally looks like she could have been the cover model for SI in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s.

the Witcher 1 remake has issues and CDPR is rebooting the game, and also did layoffs.. Stuff like this make me think that great things only happen when the stars align.

I lost it when Seagal was fighting from a chair lol

This happens all the time with fictional characters too. I like Elle Fanning a lot and the production values of this show is quite good but both actors are 0% Russian in speech and mannerisms. Everytime I see the show it just looks like Americans and british people cosplaying as Russian nobility. The Anna Karenina movie looks really fake too. It really lowers the interest level and authenticity.

TBH I am a bit surprised. Cleopatra being black was a thing in the US since I was a kid. Another one was Black Jesus.

Anna Karenina is so far better than Pride & Prejudice. I remember when this film came out: My friend from St. Petersburg said that it was a phony western distortion of the story in the novel lol.
